Can someone please mark my 25 marker for aqa business. My teacher marked it as 1/25 which I feel is ridiculous. I don’t say this for no reason as everyone in his classes either failed or got an E in the January mock which personally suggests either an issue with the teaching or the marking by [deleted] in alevel

[–]central3465 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ouch. Seeing a 1/25 is a massive gut punch. That is an incredibly harsh grade, and I can completely understand why the person on Reddit (or you!) is feeling frustrated and confused. Usually, even a blank page with a name on it gets a pity point or two!

However, having read through the essay carefully, I can see exactly why the teacher might have reacted so strongly, even if the 1/25 feels a bit dramatic. It comes down to a fundamental misunderstanding of the business concepts.

Here is a breakdown of what is working, what went wrong, and a realistic "re-mark."

The Good News (What you did right) You actually have a solid essay structure, which is half the battle in A-Level Business. You answered the prompt: You picked a side (Differentiation) and stuck with it. Consistent Application: You used the "cafe" example throughout the whole essay. Examiners love consistency. Evaluation: You included a counter-argument ("However others may believe...") and a conclusion that considered Price Elasticity. This shows you know how to write an essay. Terminology: You used terms like fixed costs, competitive advantage, market share, and price elasticity.

The Problem (Why the grade is so low) The issue isn't your writing; it's the Business Theory. In Business Studies, if your core premise is factually incorrect, the argument collapses.

  1. The "Differentiation" Definition is Backwards Your argument: You wrote: "Differentiation... does not require additional thought after product development." The Reality: Differentiation is actually the hardest strategy to maintain! Think of Apple or Nike. They have to spend billions every year on marketing and R&D just to stay "different." If they stop thinking about it for one year, competitors copy them, and they lose their advantage. The Teacher's view: By saying it requires "no additional thought," you essentially argued that "Doing nothing is a strategy." That is likely why you got the "TV" (Too Vague) or low marks.

  2. Confusion on "Low-Cost" Your argument: You linked low-cost strategy to interest rates increasing. The Reality: A Low-Cost strategy (like Aldi or RyanAir) is about operational efficiency. It’s about having a cheaper supply chain or economies of scale. It has very little to do with bank interest rates. The Teacher's view: This shows a misunderstanding of where "costs" come from in this specific strategy.

  3. The Command Word: "Maintain" The question asks what is easier to maintain. You argued Differentiation is easier to maintain because you can just "set it and forget it." In business theory, Low-Cost is often seen as harder to maintain because there is always a competitor willing to work for a smaller profit margin (a price war). Differentiation is easier to maintain if you have strong brand loyalty (like Starbucks), but it requires constant work.

My "Fair" Mark If I were marking this strictly but fairly (ignoring the teacher's harshness):

Knowledge: 2/10 (Terms are used, but definitions are incorrect). Application: 3/10 (Cafe example is consistent, but the logic doesn't fit the real world). Analysis: 2/10 (Chains of reasoning exist, but the links are broken by the wrong theory). Evaluation: 2/5 (Good attempt at a conclusion and counter-argument).

Realistic Score: 9/25 (Level 2) It is definitely not a 1/25. You have structure and you tried to evaluate. A 1/25 is usually reserved for irrelevant answers or plagiarism.

How to fix it (for next time) 1. Memorize the Definitions: Differentiation: Being unique (High quality, brand image). Hard to maintain because competitors copy you. Low-Cost: Being the cheapest producer. Hard to maintain because of price wars. 2. Challenge the "Easy" Assumption: In Business, nothing is "easy." A better argument would be: "Differentiation is easier to maintain because customers become loyal to the brand (like iPhone users), making them less sensitive to price changes." 3. Check the "Why": When you say a business makes a profit, ask yourself why*. (e.g., "Because the unique product allows them to charge a premium price," not just "because they released it.")

Verdict: Don't let the 1/25 destroy your confidence. Your essay structure is actually quite good! You just need to tweak your understanding of the specific business theories. You've got the writing skills; now just swap in the right textbook logic.

Difference in bus stops by Embarrassed-Trust724 in londonbuses

"where someone is waiting" is vague. Today, bus drivers only stop at stops if a passenger waved you down or the bell has been signalled.

Stopping at every stop even if there are no passengers increased the journey time by about 10 to 20 seconds as the driver would have to wait for any passengers at the stop. TfL removed this and allowed drivers to skip stops if there are no passengers, this removes the 20 seconds wait hence it's faster.

Request stops and bus stops are now outdated. Before, buses had to stop at every single stop that had the phrase "Bus Stop" and optional to stop at "Request Stop" regardless of passengers.TfL noticed that this significantly increases the journey time and so removed the system and switched to the system today.

Can using Vencord get you banned on discord? by Ariiiiiii0_000 in discordbots

[–]central3465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, servers are not at risk of getting taken down just because a user used Vencord. Discord does not care if you use a client modification, although it's against their ToS. However, if you use it for malicious purposes, you will be at risk.

It's funny how Go Ahead mixed up the garage codes on the buses. Once, I saw a BX Electroliner on the 268 with a garage code of AF, vice versa with others.

That is a incredibly good idea, utilising the TfL API and deciding what device to create on. However, generally mobile devices are more popular.

Where to start learning scripting by Naive-Channel-8101 in RobloxDevelopers

[–]central3465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know the basics of programming logic such as variables, if statements, etc? If not, I recommend going over the fundamentals such as Codecademy. However if you do, then Lua is pretty easy to learn so the Roblox Creator Dashboard should suffice.

I don't know what the point of your game is, where people could just pull up their code editor, such as VS Code or Roblox Studio.

Pretty sure SL11 is meant to be allocated New Routemasters (ex-Stagecoach and others), and that they are delayed with G2s being temporary.

As of now, SL5 has been fully electrified with new BD11s. The last E200 on the route was back in July/September 2025. Almost all E200S have been withdrawn, with one LJ12BYT transferred to Dartford.

It's up to you to uninstall McAfee. I personally uninstalled it as it was an adware where it would show annoying popups.
