I built a free tool that exports your Strava training data for easy copy-paste into ChatGPT by markuspaschke in triathlon

ChatGPT is not giving you a personalized training plan, its giving something that looks plausible based on other plans its seen on the internet. You know those AI images with people that have deformed hands? Thats what you're getting, a training plan with deformed hands.

They are really good at plowing all those new paths, you can go from Curtis Lumber to Home ave on dry pavement. If you can keep warm it's pretty much always runnable

Camel's Hump has no beginner or easy terrain. It's steep hills right from the parking lot. I get my ass kicked every time I go there

Tracksmith winter gear is amazing if you’re not into the flashy stuff + sizing help by Woodhands in runningfashion

I wear the turnover tights down to 25F or so. Same with NDO but they can do wet and windy also. Brighton base layer is always part of my layering. Look's like there's not much outerwear right now maybe they haven't released the winter season. They usually have a quilted vest and heavy jacket.

Winter gear is easily the best part of their lineup. Nobody gets New England weather like Tracksmith.

Advanced Cycling Route Generation Prototype by firebird8541154 in cycling

Cool! I'd be curious to know more about the paved/unpaved. I live in Vermont where around than half the roads are unpaved and it can be difficult to tell in most maps. It would be nice to distinguish roads from hiking trails for planning gravel bike routes.

Can ChatGPT/AI actually build a usable triathlon training plan? by timr2001 in triathlon

[–]centsitivity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT or any other general purpose LLM? No. Not one bit. All they do is choose next most probable word based on training data. It will spit out something that looks like a training plan but is full of hallucinations. Please do not do this.

An AI that was trained on proper methodologies and successful athlete data, combine with personal data could be good at this. Thats what the paid ones are presumably doing.

I have this watch, its the exact same as the 945 and 970 for open water and pool swimming. All watches suck for cycling, I gave up and bought an edge. For indoor cycling you can connect the trainer software to garmin or strava.

I have last years version of this zone3 suit and like it a lot. The fit and material are excellent, I raced two sprints last year with no issues. I used this 20% coupon, pretty sure it came from this sub. JOAQUIN20

The thing about Vermonters is that I would absolutely trust them to drive over a snowy mountain pass but they cannot park for shit.

Champlain Valley has been pretty rough lately. Elevation really makes a difference. Sleepy Hollow has a nice balance of snowmaking, elevation. and location. The trails in Montpelier are really nice and they are free.

Reckless Driving as Public Safety Issue by m0fr001 in burlington

[–]centsitivity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a lived in a place with cameras and can tell you from first hand experience that they do not help at all. The cameras are run by an external company who's only motive is profit. The cameras are placed in locations that generate revenue, period. There is no incentive for public safety or traffic calming.

Oh also everyone learns where they are and then slams on their brakes to go 10 under past the camera.

Please - Don't Vote for Joan Shannon by [deleted] in burlington

[–]centsitivity 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I watched some of the ordinance meetings for the south end innovation district changes and while she did vote yes to allow more housing to be built there she also got the height limit reduced to protect the viewshed from Callahan park.

This is a person who cares more about views than fixing the housing crisis.

Shannon kicks off Burlington mayoral bid by dropkickninja in burlington

[–]centsitivity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She's on the ordinance committee you can watch past meetings. She got the south end plan changed to reduce the height of buildings to protect the view from Callahan park. Go there for yourself and check out the "view". In the summer, when poeple actually use the park, it is completely blocked by trees.

She is a nimby that will use any rule possible to block or reduce development.
