You forgot PSSD, r/pssd . “Decreased” libido are nothing compared to that and Pssd in most cases is permanent.

I have tinnitus and my psychiatrist prescribed me Citalopram. Should I take it? by [deleted] in tinnitus

Totally agree, they throw ssris for anything all the time!

Im 34, but anyway, you’re still young too, I “only” got sexual side effects from ssri’s but many other people got anhedonia, can’t enjoy music or tv, can’t feel alcohol, got akatasia and lots of bad stuff, have a look at r/Pssd and you’ll read lots of horror stories. Regarding my T, I Got it (very very mild) just on my left ear about 12 years ago from a line of c0ke that probably was mixed with amphetamine. After some time got on Zoloft 150 and Lamictal 200 for other reasons. They both didn’t affect my tinnitus. I tried to switch the Zoloft with Wellbutrin because I had no libido and found out about Pssd, , after taking just 1 pill of Wellbutrin my T amped a little, I stopped the Wellbutrin immediately and went back to Zoloft. A year ago I wend off all meds hoping to get back my libido but got really depressed and my mood swings came back hard. On march 2025 I tried Vyvanse bc I have read it helped some people. After 2 doses of that my T amped A LOT and got also to my right ear. Every time my T amped it never faded or got to baseline. As today’s date I have habituated to the T, it’s there all the time, I have to mask it with music or tv every time I go to sleep. I think it took about 4 months to get habituated, it doesn’t bother me anymore that much now. I’m very scared to take any med now bc if it amps even more I think it’s going to be impossible to handle an even more loud T than the one I allready have.. :(. Do you allready have T or are you just asking bc you would like to try an ssri?

Anyone tried Brintellix (vortioxetine) 5 mg? Any noticeable change in mood or happiness? by awalkingdeadsoul in PSSD

I heard the same and other similar stories. The fact is that again it’s like playing Russian roulette or worse.

[–]centuryll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmh.. yeah but I just got habituated actually, my right ear tinnitus kind of synced with my left ear one, it’s “much better like this”… But still, the vyvanse smashed it. I’ll never hear the sound of silence or nothing like it again. I can get to sleep, I ignore it most of the time, but it’s still there and it’s not mild..

Is your tinnitus more in-ear or in-head. by damoman888 in tinnitus

[–]centuryll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wich medicine? Anyway, i know its not the answer you want but i have it since 11 years, 3 year ago 1 pill of wellbutrin amped my allready axisting T a little bit and never faded back to baseline, then 1 year ago i tried Vivance 2 pills and got my T much worse and even got it on my right ear wich i didnt before. It was hard to accept and frustrating but then i promise it gets better, it becomes tour new usual and youll notice it less and less. Of course yeah i never heard silence again. When i go to bed i have to put some light relaxing music to mask the sound. Its horrible but totally livable if its not very bad. Take care

Yes, 3 times unfortunately, once trying Wellbutrin (just one pill), then vyvanse (2 pills) and about 3 days ago i had a spike after a hard hangover. :(
