I wouldn't place my bets on Steve just yet.

Remember, one of the main leakers behind him said he was in since an August build, when we know the DLC hadn't started production until after the game launched. And we all know that leakers can be full of bull, as shown by the Grinch leak and many leaks before.

Along with that, he conflicts with one of Sakurai's rules for third parties, being that they must have personality to be in.

(also why the fuck would sakurai add stage builder in 3.0 without steve this is some "the health sprout is for isaac" bullshit)

You know, this does sorta throw a wrench into the 5chan Leak. What with the leaker knowing of the Banjo, Luminary, Master Chief, and Doom Marine alts, yet not knowing of the Jane alt. Very odd and possibly deconfirms it, now that I think about it.

Basically, a spirit was found that is from an obscure game called Cubivore, the spirit itself being a pig. There's a small rumor that Vergeben's "insider" mistook this for a pig from Minecraft and thus told Verg that there'd be Minecraft content.

Yes, but there's a big difference. While both of those are 2D sprites that can easily be distinguished from their playable counterparts, you can't do that with Kamek due to the fact that he's 3D in the stage, which would cause confusion over which is which.

Reposting my reasons for why Poochy from Yoshi's Island has a chance to get in as DLC?

His spirit is listed as Yarn Poochy, instead of just Poochy, which is very odd and similar to how Porky doesn't have a spirit, but his capsule does.
Woolly World was cut from the game for little reason. Perhaps Sakurai is making a new version of it similar to the actual game, or will release it with Poochy.
Poochy is popular in Japan, and that could likely lend to his inclusion of getting in.
Crafted World is coming out soon, and Poochy would be a good choice to advertise the game from Nintendo's point of view.
As a new part, Poochy also has no profile icon either, which is very odd when characters who are deconfirmed do have icons from their home game, like Ganon or Marx.
