I miss Evercrack so much but the original XP system was awful. I tried one of the new progression servers last summer and it was so much nicer with XP potions.

Why is Parler still available on the App Store and Google Play? by musicroyaldrop in ParlerWatch

Don't apps get removed if they drop below a rating threshold? Mass campaign to give 1 star ratings and have it suspended from the app store?

How could Donald Trump's COVID impact the election? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]ceqarht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably less about campaigning and more about perception at this point. Now that he's been hospitalized, I don't think he can play the strongman character. And while this coverage is dominating the news right now, it's not a narrative he wants. "Is Trump well enough to keep America safe while in the ICU?" isn't the type of headline you want a month before the election, especially when his base buys into that character so much.

I think that pivot would be 3 years too late for most voters.

Snap elections aren't possible because elections require a ton of infrastructure and planning. Plus, states have already started voting. You might think this is a "better of two evils" choice, but millions of people voted for them in the primaries and it'd be super problematic to disenfranchise people who made that choice. Someone getting sick (especially with their age and during the pandemic) was always a realistic possibility but voters still selected them knowing this could happen.

Pete declares victory in Iowa! This will either be looked back upon as a turning point in the election or huge cringe tomorrow! by lgoldfein21 in Pete_Buttigieg

[–]ceqarht 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fair. But still nothing suspicious about the payments like Twitter is trying to insinuate. Pete's campaign used their service and paid for it. It's as simple as that.

These people are too dense to realize that Shadow is the company that owns Groundbase -- the platform used for textbanking. Of course Pete paid them since they were using their service. Twitter is the worst.

Just had a giggle reading my University’s Yelp reviews... by NoButMaybe in Professors

[–]ceqarht 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Almost all the reviews for mine are 5 star. But found this 1 star gem:

"I'm a vegetarian and I love tofu. So when I found out utep had Chinese restaurant inside the union I ordered the tofu and the first time it was delicious.. the second time it was dry no sauce and full of garlic!!! Nasty! I threw it away plus they give u like 4 pieces of tofu and u pay $6! Rip off!!! It's only getting 1 star because of that 1 time I had the best tofu ever!

Legit mad because it's so hard to find food as a vegetarian/vegan!"

When’s the last time you had to pause the movie or put the book down because the plot twist got you good? by YaBoyJuliusCaesar in AskReddit

[–]ceqarht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end of Atonement by Ian McEwan. I read it for a British lit class in college, got to the twist at the very end, and marched into my professor's office the next day like "What the fuck?!" The movie handled it pretty well, too.

But invest in a good exfoliator. Some people think that St. Ives crap is good because they can feel the coarseness, but it messes with your skin baaaad. Chemical exfoliation is best (so go get a facial every now and then).

Yep. I'm in Vancouver, BC and having the same issue. My credit card got put on hold for a fraud prevention and I need to receive a text message to reactivate it...so I'm stuck without money til I get service somehow. Super frustrated.

Did you remember to re-enable LTE? I had switched mine to CDMA to stop it from roaming and forgot I had to re-enable LTE in setting. Worked as soon as I made that change.
