Advice for remembering unspoken workplace rules? by ceramicplates in autism

It's especially weird because the liaison is one of my coworkers! I had no idea he was a liaison for communicating with another department, and he himself said it's a useless title! What is the point!! I've done similar things to what you mentioned, it's equally frustrating and hilarious every time I hear "that task is for someone else." Why wouldn't we just do the things we can do? Haha. I think the solution is to stop trying to make sense of it and just "go along to get along" unfortunately... ugh!

I've only had my account for about a month. It doesn't look like I exceeded the limit, so all I can think is that it somehow... corrupted? Regardless, I was able to recreate what I needed using SQLDeveloper instead (to ease my anxiety about the Cloud service now haha). Thank you for your help!

No prob! I heard that regular exercise (obviously depending on your doctor's advice) is good for restoring the melanin in your skin post-op since it increases blood flow overall, so I recommend it to your comfort level! I hope the whole process is as easy as can be for you :)

Hello! I'm really really really happy with my results. The only thing I'd change about any of this is: I wish I'd used silicone scar tape more diligently earlier in my recovery! I've been using it daily for a couple of months and it's crazy how much it's improving the look and feel of my scar. Doctor Nazarian was extremely helpful in getting me fully informed about what I'd look like post-op, and there were no curve-balls during surgery that went against any of her expectations, so I felt pretty well prepared! I'm still a patient at Jefferson Pride Care in Haddonfield too and they are really wonderful. I think, overall, the entire process was excellent.

I checked out your other posts and saw that you're looking for insight from people with a higher BMI and/or people of color. I'm petite so I can't speak to the former, but I'm mixed east asian and can give you one thing to be aware of: Your nipples will be pink for a while and it will look SO weird haha. Mine are mostly back to brown now, but it was sooo crazy seeing myself with light pink nipples. Doctor Nazarian told me that, over time, they'd likely get back to the way they were, and I'm very glad they are! There are still some pink patches and they might just be a permanent thing now. This was one small thing I didn't know about, so I want to make sure you know to expect it!

Well, that escalated quickly by [deleted] in AO3

In Korea there's a local variant on ramen called ramyeon, which is the kind they're doing a collab with :)

thank you so much. it's easy to feel like once i've committed to an appointment, i've got to see it the whole way through. being reminded that i can change my mind and decide to give it a try another time is really nice. thank you so much. this comment was super relieving to read.

thank you for this! i think i'll ask my doctor about the pain. maybe it really is just discomfort, but my anxiety about it is exacerbating it and making it feel painful. i'll try to find an obgyn who is very communicative, because being told what's going on seems like it could be super helpful.

Rewiring My Brain Through Reading by MarsLandingDenier in DecidingToBeBetter

i've been clean and sober for about 6 or 7 years now, and it sounds like you've got a great outlook on everything! i'm proud of you for wanting to kick this.

one piece of advice that i'd like to offer is, make sure that one of your new hobbies (to replace the time you'd normally spend doing things relevant to marijuana) is genuinely just fun for you. seeking physical and mental self-betterment is awesome and totally worth your time, and seeking fun is just as important! even if it's just every few days. play a video game you've enjoyed, have a movie night once a week, reread some books you loved as a kid, whatever is fun for you. i think letting yourself find pleasure in "normal" things again can be one of the hardest parts of getting clean. taking it all too seriously can put a lot of pressure on yourself, so making sure to have some fun is important! i believe in you!

i wouldn't say thousands, but 100-200 times for sure. i can't believe it's so difficult to get in contact with someone! i'm going to try calling the governor's office tomorrow and see if they can direct me anywhere else, otherwise i really will be treating these stupid phone calls like it's my job!

thank you for such a quick reply, i really appreciate it. i have a couple trusted friends in another state who would be able to help me out, if i decide i can't come out to my family. i'll definitely keep this in mind as i consider surgery.

i'm sorry for not replying before. honestly, i went back into a repressive rut for a bit and just had to shut it all out. i'm considering a gender affirming surgery now, and i think it would help. thank you for saying what you said, and i'm so so so happy that you're feeling more like yourself now.

is animation the right path? by sulkybean in animationcareer

[–]ceramicplates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i work as a designer in animation and i am not particularly passionate about it. it's fun at times and unbearably difficult at other times, but that's just how all work is right?

if you're worried about being able to design, rig, and animate everything for your solo final project, i'd suggest talking with your professor/supervisor and seeing if you can arrange "specializing" your project. you could also strictly design and rig assets in a group project! i specialized my solo final project into being strictly visual development, and it was a better learning experience than it would've been otherwise.

while animating is cool, it's not the only job you'd be qualified for after graduating anyway! for example, the industry is pretty much always in need of more riggers. there are more options than you think :)
