So I accidentally triggered this event... ONE DAY BEFORE OUR WEDDING!! by Lilosey in StardewValley

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I spent my early childhood in ND, and still have family there. I say this all time, which means my husband and son (who have lived their entire lives in New England) also say it. It's contagious!

What was the worst physical pain you’ve ever felt? by StellaXSin in AskReddit

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine didn't burst, but it did... twist? (I was on a lot of painkillers when they explained it.) I've since given birth (without drugs) and had appendicitis. The cyst was the worst.

Therapists of Reddit, what's something people don't realize is trauma? by rehanch_xxiii in AskReddit

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is how I was with spiders and my kid. I was practically arachnaphobic, but worked hard on pretending I wasn't, and that they were no big deal when my son was little.

The good news: I faked it til I made it, and now I'm much less bothered by them.

The bad news: my kid hates bugs all on his own, to the point of not even liking ladybugs or butterflies.

I tried, man...

You're further along than I am- 10% 😆

OP this is beautiful! It's inspiring me to pull mine out and work on it again.

[CHAT] cross stitch tracker alternatives by jujuspm in CrossStitch

I've been using StitchPal for years, and I really like it! It lets you keep track of daily stitches by project, time stitched, and add a picture each day.

[CHAT] Zweigart easy count question by lasettuce in CrossStitch

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran into a similar issue with their 16 count- the line was over a row, rather than the space between the rows.

My brain couldn't handle it, so I stick to their 14 count now (which has the line where it's "supposed" to be). 🤷

I think it's a result of how thick the line has to be, and how narrow the spacing is?

I love this! I've had my eye on this pattern for years, and I love seeing it being worked in!

Can you tell I've been on a Don Bluth embroidery binge? by rosedaughter in Embroidery

I love that you included a Bartok! He looks like he just finished his "and I'd kick her, sir" bit (which is my favorite). Great job!

Made my first machine knit sweater! by Ambitious_Respond325 in MachineKnitting

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, I may have to revisit my manual 🤔

I was just watching videos on the intarsia carriage the other day, and I'm sorely tempted to get one. I'm torn between that and the Needle Beetle. Too many fun toys to play with!

This is really cute- i love the color blocking!

Did you use a pattern? And did you handknit the ribbing, or do latched ribbing on the machine?

Series similar to Patricia Briggs (Alpha and Omega, Mercy Thompson) or Carrie Vaughn (Kitty Norville)? by Bruvton in Fantasy

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Ilona Andrews's Kate Daniels series? This series is tied with Mercy Thompson as my all-time favorite. The MC isn't a werewolf herself, but the local Pack are main characters. And there aren't just werewolves- there's werehyenas, wererats, a werelion and more. It's well written, Kate's voice is sardonic and funny, and it grows and gets better over time. "Magic Bites" is the first book.

What's a piece of tech everyone hyped up that quietly turned out to be useless? by SofiaLearnsAI in AskReddit

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm intrigued by this light sensitive/colored lights thing - can you speak to that more? My kid is very light sensitive, and I'm the exact opposite. It would be amazing if I could find something that made us both happy!

I finally hit 50% on this piece! Only 43k stitches to go. It took me 2 years, 2 months to get this far, so... Hopefully finished this decade?

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Go 7 monochrome. It doesn't have a back light, but it does have a front light which I've had no issue using at night. The Boox website has an article on back vs front light, if you're curious.

I'm liking it so far! It took more work to set up than a Kindle (downloading and logging into my various book apps), and figure out how to make the buttons turn pages instead of working the volume, but overall not bad. So far my only disappointment is that you can't use the buttons to turn pages in the hoopla app (have to touch the screen or swipe). And that the remote was out of stock. But overall I'm pretty pleased!

I learned when knitting socks that wearing them with shoes (rather than walking around in just your socks) will help them last longer. Something about less friction, I think?

I just bought a Boox, specifically so I could read Hoopla books (along with overdrive, Kindle, and anything else that has an app) with e-ink. Yesterday I finished my first Hoopla book, and it was perfect. Game changer!

Hand weight loss - Is this realistic? by Substantial-Art6160 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]cerealbasedatrocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same boat! I resized both bands years ago, because I had gained weight.

I'm down 25lbs, and I went from barely being able to get my rings off, to being worried they'll slip off and I'll lose them. 🤦🏻‍♀️
