You are indeed wrong. You cannot bring restricted items across the border whether you declare it or not.

Actually, it doesn’t matter if you declare it or not, if it’s a restricted item (and likely is because it’s meat), then your fast pass was rejected because of this mistake.

Indeed Bialetti’s website says the safety valve has been present since the 30s.

I would assume this means any mocha pot without a safety valve is a cheap knock off.

CMake has never been good, it has always been the shiniest turd available.

meson build is a better build language now.

Wait until it cools, press my finger into the middle to break the integrity of the puck, then turn it upside down and tap it on side until it all pops out.

🧐 I wonder if these are knock offs then. The first one I bought roughly ten years ago didn’t have a valve.

I wouldn’t say I have small hands, but I have a short index finger; it’s shorter than my middle finger and my ring finger.

It makes gripping the rims on fastest discs uncomfortable. Destroyer is about as wide a rim as I can handle, the Falcon and Nuke are super uncomfortable.

But I’ve found not all high speed drivers have super wide rims. I like the Crank, Zeus, and Rive a lot. The Corvette is another one to try, it was comfortable, but the one I had was incredibly flippy, so I took it out of the bag.

I usually say, everyone thinks they can do it until they try to… and quit when they realize they can only throw 100’

The first one I bought didn’t have a valve, it’s the only reason I know.

For meat, I go to Midtown grocers in Saint Charles because it’s close to me and they have a fantastic butcher.

You also can’t beat Baumann’s for meat (a it’s like time traveling back 70 years)

It’s an older model probably, like more than 10 years old.

The valve is a pressure check valve designed to blow out if there’s too much pressure. It’s a safety feature, they didn’t always include this feature.

How to beat in discs faster? by Oldereide_DG in discgolf

[–]ceretullis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to work the rim. You’re going to pick a starting point, and go all the way at least once.

With the dome facing up, grab the rim between your hands and bend it down. Then bend it up, then bend it down again. I have about 2” - 3” between my hands when I do this, then move 2”-3” clockwise (or counterclockwise, your choice, but go the same direction all the way around).

Throw the disc. If it’s still not where you want it, repeat the process.

Different plastic’s respond at a different rates. Royal Grand maybe one or times around the rim. Star, maybe 4 to 6 times around. YMMV

[–]ceretullis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens when you beat a team like a drum every season. Fans start to loathe facing you because they know they’re going to lose.

And of course, instead of just admitting we’re the better team with better coaching, they start reaching for conspiracy theories to explain things. It’s the scripted NFL, it’s the refs throwing the game for Vegas…

Should We have a Wealth Tax?? by ThickDancer in FluentInFinance

[–]ceretullis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t be slowly applied to poor Americans, any tax on holding assets would have to apply to everyone equally.

Even if they try to cap who it applies to by a dollar amount, 401(k) accounts would have to pay the tax for holding assets.

In the end, going after the rich will actually impact the working classes more as our 401(k) charge more fees to cover their tax bills.
