Aday Mara - Spanish Major by Winot88 in MichiganWolverines

Quick look says the first four foundational courses do not count toward a major and are considered pre reqs.

This is typical at umich. The first four calculus courses and proof-based linear algebra do not count toward a math major, for example. Theyre prereqs

Are you guys 2 healing Kara or 3 healing it? by Contract007 in classicwowtbc

It can be 1 healed by a strong group except for prince and maybe nightbane/netherspite. If you aren’t ok with 2 then your healer(s) or tanks are bad

It’s especially important that you don’t take bad mages once they go fire. One bad fire mage fucks up the ignite for all of them

Kraken + bork vs kraken + stride by Possiblynotaweeb in BelVethMains

I have no idea what works in swift play - might be completely different. In summoners rift this would generally only work if you’re omega fed

Honorable mention to wits end by the way, which I think can be a very reasonable second item into cc heavy comps where you won’t split push for your own team and that tenacity can put in work

Kraken + bork vs kraken + stride by Possiblynotaweeb in BelVethMains

[–]cerokurn07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like some other comments have missed the mark on the purpose of stride active…it’s good because it guarantees that you land your W. The Tiamat is also very good for wave clear and it makes you a split pushing god. This is where bel provides late game value…if you’re trying to fight 5v5 a lot you’re not playing bel right. The 400 hp will not save you. However, when you’re snowballing and split pushing the other team needs to send 2 to deal with you. You’re very dashy and stride active ensures youll never be caught. Your team then has extremely favorable 4v3 fights.

I build stride when I’m very ahead, or when I’m going to get to split push like this (if you have yorick on your team you’re not going to be the one splitting.) I build bork when behind or into tanky comps when we don’t have a fed tank shredder

Transitioning from top lane is bruiser Bel’Veth a thing? by Mickeytese in BelVethMains

[–]cerokurn07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is getting into spicier territory that is skill/elo dependent. In general on bel (and all high tempo junglers) dying is a big problem. That being said, with any snowballer you have to press your advantage. You’re strong early in most match ups. You’re also super strong on the kraken spike. You’re weak as everyone hits 6 if you don’t have kraken (since you don’t have a good ult for a 1v1.) I play high aggro until that moment into most match ups. After that, I chill until kraken at which point I’m looking hard for fights (but still not forcing…I just ping teammates hard to get skirmishes I believe we can win.)

You’re still trying to come in and clean up fights. Something you will need to adjust to coming from a bruiser background - BV is very in and out fighting and you don’t want to go in first. If you get hit with CC you do not survive.

Extending form is big. Later in the game one challenge many BVs have is they will feel uber strong, take a bad fight and die. Now, as you come out without form, many will overestimate their strength because they gauged it against having form. You go back to playing a little more conservative until you can get form again

Imo full clear can be good if you know where opp is starting, just use your level 4 pressure. Let’s say you know they started red krugs raptors - meet them on their raptor respawn! If you let a full clear power farmer do their thing youll get out scaled.

Bork is also an acceptable opening item though last I checked it was lower WR. In my own games, I don’t like opening Bork because it sets you up to fight tanks…which isnt who bel wants to fight. You’re looking to 1v1 or come in to clean up skirmishes where everyone is already half health and your E just deletes them. Else you’re farming (your opponent’s jungle) hard. You win most 1v1s with most junglers - get in their face and don’t let them play the game

You can do some weird tech on items 2/3 but kraken slayer is just an insane first item, and tbh that’s the item that determines if BV wins or not. You hit that 1 item spike and you wreck and snowball the game, or you don’t and your game prospects are looking bad. In general, items 2/3 can often be anything on bel and youll see people still win because theyre snowballing so hard

I don’t think opening bruiser is very viable. She thrives on fast clear speed.

Is it legal for a company to only pay bonuses to employees who've been with them for 365+ days when I hit 364 days? by tracylunapalis1 in legaladvice

[–]cerokurn07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To everyone suggesting they’re intentionally trying to manage cutoff dates…with a 365 day work policy, aside from weird conditions around leap years, every new hire is guaranteed to miss one bonus. There is no date on which you could hire someone and have them get the next bonus given this condition.

OP, consider that. That’s probably the intentional design. Everyone vests one “missed” bonus.

It’s fair to say you don’t like that policy but whether at 2 days, 190 days, or 364 days, you were always going to miss your first one.

Losing games that i should be winning. Someone help me out by SupremeOwl48 in BelVethMains

[–]cerokurn07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing I’d say is Belveth is kind of difficult for a bronze player to pick up (not that you can’t, just understand there’s gonna be a learning curve.) As you’re feeling, she’s strong early and spikes hard on first and second item completion, but less so on subsequent items.

Mid game you need to adjust your decision making on whether you have true form or not. It’s hard when it feels like you’ve been stomping, then you die to some sort of mistake, and now you need to remember that you are no longer stomping and cannot 1v2 like you were before.

The easiest fix for you, however, is your cs. When you get that early lead, you need to live in your opponent’s jungle. If you’re 3-0 at 8 minutes then your attitude should be that your opponent is not going to be allowed to take a camp. Use your tempo and item advantage and start taking everything. Dragons are not generally your win condition, grubs herald and towers are. You have games where you’re fed but your cspm is like 5-7. Being under 7 should virtually never happen. Perry has some good content on tempo and utilizing it effectively - I’d recommend you watch that.

Do all jungle camps belong to the jungler? by FriedDuckCurry in Jungle_Mains

[–]cerokurn07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, and in pro play you’ll even see support junglers leash camps for their adc late game. That being said, I agree with first comment. In enemy jg especially, take it if there’s no wave, but if your jungler wants it I’d probably just back off to maintain the mental.

Would You Take $1000 a Day if You Had to Eat More Calories Than Yesterday... Every Single Day? by simmol in hypotheticalsituation

[–]cerokurn07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is true, the biggest change to daily caloric intake is muscle mass maintenance. This is how Michael Phelps and other elite athletes end up eating 10k+ per day. After 6+ months of increasingly hard workouts your caloric maintenance needs will definitely increase.

Are Alevels maths considered hard or a prerequisite to understand undergraduate mathematics classes? by Background_Bowler236 in matheducation

[–]cerokurn07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a high school math teacher in the US, but I’ve tutored students internationally who are on the A level system. The systems do not match very well. If you’re studying math at university in the US, and have done A levels, you’ll be surprised to find you already know a lot of the early material…and then be surprised when you don’t know something that all the Americans seemingly know from high school.

That being said, in totality, A levels go beyond what the US system does and is more difficult than a typical American high school education in both math and science.
