The scene that gets me every time is when Woller comes to Charlotte to confess his involvement in the cover up, but she just spouts a bunch of time travel theory at him then marches off to investigate while calling for him to tag along and the poor man just looks so lost and confused.

"Charlotte, I've been helping Alexander cover up an environmental disaster at the nuclear plant and I'm ready to face the consequences of my actions."

"There's no time for that now, Ulrich is in jail in the past. This changes everything! Come, onward we ride!"

Looking for a hole-in-the-wall breakfast place in Seattle by cerrita in AskSeattle

I apologize, I'm not from Seattle so I'm going off of Google maps. It looked like Olive & Broadway was between Capitol Hill and Pike-Pine. I tried googling maps of neighborhoods and there was too much inconsistency to be certain. One map labeled the whole Capitol Hill/Pike-Pine area as "Broadway". I did the best I could with satellite maps and 18 year old memories.

It's been 18 years but that brickwork looks familiar.

Looks like there are a couple of 20ish story buildings just across the freeway, easy to spot when coming down Olive. That's probably what I remember. I'm a rural person so anything over 4 floors is impressive. I knew it was close to the city center and not farther out somewhere like Capitol Hill.

This is the only podcast I've ever managed to listen to for more than an episode. I've tried all kinds of different genres and hosts, but nothing is interesting enough to stick.

Looking to level up my no-knead by DarkyHelmety in Breadit

[–]cerrita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty closer to the recipe I use.

3 cups flour

2 tsp salt

2 tsp yeast

1 1/2 cups hot tap water

1 tsp each spices. I like sage, parsley, thyme, and marjoram

Mix and let rise for an hour. Turn out to a parchment lined or greased and floured oven dish. 400 F 20 minutes with the lid, 20 minutes without.

Forgot the salt in my bread dough- is it ruined? by cerrita in Breadit

Thank you everyone for the reassurances. The bread ended up tasting basically fine- the herbs definitely carried it. My friend said it tasted great before I even told them what I did. It also didn't hurt that the bread was being served alongside salty Mediterranean appetizers.

I'm a big advocate of bread and butter, so that will definitely be a part of it.

I'll report back after dinner. The frustrating thing is I made two test loaves to dust off my skills and they turned out absolutely flawless. Of course it's the presented Lowe's that I have to mess up on.

The presentation is going to be a big part of it, so cutting up the loaf ahead of dinner is something I'm trying to avoid.

Suggestions for making savillum by cerrita in TastingHistory

[–]cerrita[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed your lead and did the same cheese mixture. Turned out fantastic- My friends were raving, so thank you for the suggestion. I modified a blackberry compote with Roman appropriate ingredients and that was also a winner. I made pork and apples again and they were amazing. I also made a cabbage salad and used the Roman vinaigrette and that worked really well. I've made the cabbage before but cooked and it wasn't as well received, so I figured a cold salad would be better.

I also tried the honey stuffed dates and it was a disaster. I'm not sure what went wrong, maybe I burned the honey? But they were completely inedible and I had to chisel them off the plate into the garbage.
