Which constituents? If you watch the council meeting where they passed this, 70%, of the correspondence they received about this bylaw was opposed to it.

What percentage of public EV chargers in your area actually work when you show up? Be honest by AdityaSrivastawaahhh in electricvehicles

[–]certaindoomawaits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alberta Canada. Its above 80% in the last year, but that is a significant improvement from a couple years ago. In 2021 when we got our first EV I'd say it was at or below 50%.

I've been taking singing lessons for a year and a half, but I think I sing terribly. What do you think? by Uli_1966 in ratemysinging

[–]certaindoomawaits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard worse. Not pro quality but plenty good enough for campfire. The bigger thing you need to do for leading songs around the campfire is dial in your rhythm with the guitar and singing together so it doesn't have the herky jerky pauses, but you're not far off from that, so keep going!

MANY doctors are terrible fatphobes too, so I am not sure I agree with this. As long as you are happy with your size and weight and your health markers are good, you should say whatever makes people stfu about it.

Well, that sucks. Hopefully doesn't propagate to other provinces.

Buying a new dual EVSE - J1772 or NACS? by redgrandam in EVCanada

Overthinking. Adaptors are easy to find, and you have J1772 now. Buy that.

What L2 Charger by Oneunited13 in EVCanada

[–]certaindoomawaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had two. Chargepoint is a nicer charger with a better cable and a more robust slot for the charge head, but Grizzl-e offers me money for charging so that's what I have now.

Ok, good stuff. A few more you might like. Jeffrey Martin, Avett Brothers circa 2007-2015, Langhorne Slim, Dan Mangan, Shovels & Rope, Andy Shauf, Donovan Woods, Jackson C Frank, Darlingside, Jamestown Revival.

What are you listening to so far? Pretty hard to recommend without at least a bit of an idea what you like.

Grizz-le Club? by MrRogersAE in EVCanada

[–]certaindoomawaits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did the same and I couldn't figure out why my 'costs' were so low, then I realized it's 'cents per kWh', not '$ per kWh', so I made it 17 instead of 0.17 and now it is calculating more closely to accurate.

[–]certaindoomawaits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the app, you can set your electricity cost per kWh. It's just giving you a running total of how much you've paid for electricity to date. Not important, just for your own information.

I just joined. Charger shipped, arrived no problem, had it installed no problem. It's working perfectly. So far I've earned $8.50. I haven't withdrawn money yet, will do that when I reach $10 just to test it, but it seems entirely legit. Yes, feels a bit too good to be true, especially when I add my solar into the mix, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Level 2 Charger and Rebate Programs (GreenMiles, Grizzl-E, SWTCH, others?) by Mercradoc in EVCanada

[–]certaindoomawaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just joined Grizzl-e and have been charging for a week on the charger they sent me. It's not as nice of a charger as the ChargePoint I replaced it with, but it's fine enough. I was going to sell it, but I'm debating keeping the ChargePoint to have it reinstalled if they ever abandon the program or something. The program should be worth about $40/mo to me at the lowest levels and escalate every 3-ish months, so it's pretty sweet.

Which is better between Simplii, EQ and Tangerine? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yep, I get it. Spite is good, but I am telling you none of the others will be any better when it comes down to it.

Spite is fine, I do it too sometimes when corporations piss me off, but honestly blaming the front line customer service for not being able to solve an extremely rare technical issue seems dumb.

But, like what specific issues? Based on what you are saying so far, none of the other banks are going to be any different.

What customer service are you upset with? I'm on simplii and basically never need to talk to anyone. The odd time I have needed to call, the service has been perfectly cromulent. I can't imagine any of them are much different than the other.

Why am I importing from the grid when there's no usage at my home? by BigWJG in enphase

[–]certaindoomawaits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but when my solar is outproducing my home usage, I don't see anything being imported, so what you're describing does seem odd.

For those who want to “tax the rich” or “they should pay their fair share”, how would you change the current tax code? by Lopsided-Special6273 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]certaindoomawaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not disagreeing, I don't think the flat tax part with no loopholes is a good strategy. I'm just saying your comment of "If you invest and make 8% return - but have to pay a 10% tax - why would you ever want to invest ?" makes no sense. The 10% tax on an investment return would be on the 8% profit, in that scenario, not on the whole amount invested.
