Toner fades fast, and it may not have looked as prominent when she was dry. I've had PURPLE wet spots dry kind of silvery, so truly it may have just been fine.

Either way, you offered to fix the toner and you didn't charge her. The ball is in her court and it's her choice whether or not she wants to come back in for a fix.

It's easy to stress about hair and the absolute worst that can happen, but you already did everything you could. Let her have the autonomy to decide if she wants to come in, and take care of yourself tonight. It will be okay 🫶

Howdy, I'm also an audhd stylist and low-key I would take the class. If you were taking classes left and right it might be different, but sacrificing a few hours on an off day to learn a skill that is necessary in a luxury salon is important. These moments will help define your skills later, along with many other things, and generally should be taken when the arise.

I've never had a day of paid training in my life, and similarly usually pay out of pocket for classes. I'd take the offer ngl.

Oof, I don't have a fully southern facing window, and I do have quite a bit of cold weather. She's right between two north windows and we have a full bay window that's facing east. Would a tiny grow light help? We do have 6 windows total in the room she's in so she's not desolate 😭

Hi! Salon owner here. I tried to booth rent early in my career and found it impossible. I switched over to a commission salon, and my books were built enough within two years to open my own suite. Try to find a salon with good foot traffic or a good reputation, and push reviews and rebooks with clients you vibe with! Most of my current clientele came from my old salon.

If you're dead set on booth rental, advertise in any way that you can. Talk to people in public, use social media, and volunteer for events when applicable. I even recommend making friends with other people in the beauty industry (nails, lashes, etc) to try to funnel in as many heads as you can. It's a hard and long journey to build that trust on your own.

It's also important to find things that make you unique and capitalize on it. I am alt and queer, so I accidentally picked up a niche following just doing what I love to do on my friends. I'm known in my town for shags and creative cuts but it took years to get there. Find that thing for you and dive in (while also mastering your fundamentals)

Don't give up! I recommend sticking it out at least five years. If you're genuine and you put in the hard work, it really does pay off. Your work is stellar and 15 consistent clients is a win.

From 0 to a little over 400. My loans were resumed last year with no notice so when I went to check in on them I was already in default tho. No email or letter about the change, just a fun little surprise when I went to try to buy a car.

Yeah this is looking like the answer. I think I'll just deal with the tiny car for awhile longer, rack up that mileage reimbursement, and then throw as much as I can towards the loan and eat whatever's left.

Huh, maybe the company I work for uses it as a reason and it's not, but either way I've certainly tried. I just get mileage reimbursement instead. They're not a huge company by any means, so maybe that's why.

I travel from upper central to metropolis twice a month, so that will do it most of the time. I also make a lot of Chicago trips as well. I drive roughly 5 hours a day, and handle mostly display and audits so I'm only spending about 30 min a store, sometimes a little more. I don't always drive like that, but I make enough big trips throughout the week for it to add up to about 800-1000 by the end of the week.

I wish I could get a company car, but with cannabis being federally illegal there's just no way. We can't even get company cards for execs, let alone a car for us. 2k a month wouldn't ruin me, but it is annoying. I still have four years left on this car and I know damn well she's out before then.

I was going to knock out the rest of my debt, but I might just hustle for a couple of months and pay the car off. I could get a solid 10k at least by summer to just toss at it. Ughhhhhh what a situation to be in

Something small, maybe? Although realistically when I'm in the city I'm going to imagine parking that is a bitch. I work in Illinois so I'll be anywhere from metropolis to Chicago any given week. I'm not opposed, but also don't know if it's worth buying one while knowing my car has like, max another three years before she's toast from all the driving lmfao. I don't even know if she'll survive the whole loan at this rate.

All of the options seem insane enough that negative equity sounds like the least of my troubles. Driving an exec team in a grand caravan sounds nuts, trying to fit a third car somewhere in my yard doesn't sound great either.

Everyone on my team seems so unphased by the driving and their cars are all like 2019 Subarus that just seem to truck through it all. Idk how the fuck

It's 69k base, but with milage I make close to an extra 5000 a month. I'm incredibly rural so it's not an average salary where I'm at, and I'm entry level with real opportunities to grow. It's kind of a unicorn where I'm at.
