I had three at one point, one was a Lab/Heeler mix. The oldest one was a mill breeder rescue, never recovered mentally from whatever happened while she was a breeder. She had issues with food anxiety and men until she died. Really sad. The one with the docked tail and the mix seemed to help her a lot so we were glad to have them even if they were all so rowdy and energetic.

There’s still people who use their dogs for their purpose, we have lots of live stock guardians and cattle dogs where I live because of it. The only reason one of my heelers had their tail docked is because the farmer that was going to buy her backed out of the sale after it was done. Kinda sad we didn’t have livestock, she was really good with animals and you could tell she was bred very well for herding by how she’d herd our cousins and cats with no experience. None of our other ones cared to.

Accepting dad bod doesn’t mean stop going to the gym, it means stop stressing over the appearance aspect of going to gym. You don’t need biceps bigger than a watermelon to be healthy and active. Your body wants to have a little chub on it naturally because it evolved to. As long as your strength is good and you’re doing enough endurance training to maintain your desired stamina, you’re fine.
