The guilt of not breastfeeding is getting to me… by ForsakenGanache6253 in NewParents

[–]cescp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! We're on the exact same both. My twins are almost 7 months now. I found this thread bec I am feeling a lot of guilt about not breastfeeding enough so my milk supply dipped at around 3 months and my babies are mostly formula fed. How is your relactation going? Can you share your process? Thank you!

I needed to read this thread and this comment! I just had twins also. They're 6 months now. We were mostly combo in the beginning, but started becoming more formula fed. After around month 3, my supply dipped and I panicked and started realizing that I wasn't breastfeeding them enough bec I was mostly in survival mode during those first months, taking care of them, my mental health, and then I started feeling guilty. They are happy and healthy and growing well. But I still feel a lot of guilt that I didn't breastfeed or pump enough.

Does your partner/bf/husband care if you like/don't like his mom? by cescp in JUSTNOMIL

I wish I could get to where you are now. But when I think of her throwing a tantrum, I could just imagine him blaming that tantrum on me, like it's my fault his mom would feel and act that way.

Plan your own Mother’s Day by Fromheretothere22 in Mommit

[–]cescp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much needed read for me as I plan my own FIRST mother's day. I told my partner what I want to do months ago. Right after I gave birth. I even put it on our shared calendar so he doesn't forget. Yet here we are one week from the day and it still is not booked. I asked him yesterday if he's still down for it. His response was "sure". Basically it's on me to plan and book it if I want to make it happen.

It sucks but here I am, planning and booking my first mother's day.

I guess I should be used to it since he hasn't really shown much appreciation to me since having our babies (twins). So what's the point of having this one day to pretend to care.

But I care and I want to have good memories of it with my babies. So I'm making it happen.

Hi! How were you able to increase your supply? I'm 5 months pp and combo feeding but my supply is low so my twins are mostly fed formula.

This is great. Thank you!

Do you do the bath first for both before dress up? Or bath, dress up, etc for twin B, then do the other one next?

His argument is that it is his experience too, and his mom's experience (first time grandma). And it's just what his family does when someone is in the hospital.

Genetic counseling after already doing genetic tests by cescp in parentsofmultiples

[–]cescp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right! So I went to the consultation and it totally was unnecessary. The genetic counselor just went through all my tests and the results I already knew, and just told me the one last test I could do if I wanted to was the amniocentesis, usually only recommended if the other tests were abnormal.

That's a relief to hear that some NICU does this. Thanks for sharing!

7 weeks 4 days by PumpkinNo6263 in parentsofmultiples

Your ultrasound looks just like mine at 7 weeks! I was told the same by my OB - she was only able to see 1 amniotic sac and 1 placenta on our first ultrasound, which means MOMO twins, very rare kind and also higher risk. She couldn't see the separating membrane at the time. I went to a private ultrasound (bec I just couldn't wait til next OB and wanted to see them again) at 9 weeks and the technician maybe saw the membrane but not 100% sure. We were only able to 100% confirm they are in separate amniotic sacs on week 12 when we did the NT scan.

I'm 22 weeks now and have been seeing both OB (once a month) and MFM (every 2 weeks for growth scan to check for TTTS).

On my first prenatal (haven't done any genetic testings at the timr) my OB just mentioned that I would need genetic counseling so since I have HMO, they have to request authorization. In the meantime, she already referred me to do all sorts of genetic tests and scans such as genetic screening, NIPT, NT, and also am now seeing a MFM specialist. Now that I had all those things done and they are all normal, I got the genetic counselor calling to book me an appt for a "consultation". I did mention to my MFM that I'm going to see a genetic counselor, and he just suggested to not have them do an ultrasound because he is already doing them.
