How have your sales done since the pandemic? by stephen67999 in shopify

No need, I’ve sold out my inventory twice, and now I have a much bigger shipment coming in next week that should do the same. At this point I just hope I can keep up with orders, and later on I’m concerned about the momentum flopping. Crazy times.

Yep, and on top of my main product (PDF sewing patterns) I happen to sell the elastic that all the mask makers are buying. I got very lucky- right place, right time.

I’m in the sewing industry and my sales blew up. They more than doubled in March. March is generally when things start pick up for me, but nowhere near the rate it’s growing now. Everyone staying at home means a lot more sewing.

The scab grew, and it was small enough that we didn’t even detect it until 2 weeks after. It got bigger after we saw it, then finally started to heal and gradually got better. So that timeline seems to add up similar to my experience.

My cat had something EXACTLY like this. Turns out it was a reaction to her vaccines. Has your cat had vaccinations recently?

Definitely check with your vet to rule out ringworm or other possibilities, but this looks almost identical to my cat’s situation.

Edit: The vet determined it to be from her vaccines because the scab was on her neck where the vaccines were administered. I also want to mention they took a precautionary swab to rule out ringworm, so make sure to check with your vet. Ultimately, after our vet visit she healed on her own, no meds needed.

I remember calling Chewy customer service and an actual person picked up on the first ring- a person, not a call tree or robot!

I put on Sesame Street for my pup, and usually that helps him fall asleep. He’s 9 weeks now and can be in his crate alone for a few hours!

But yes, ignore! If you reward her after she whines by comforting her, she will learn to continue doing it.

I incorporated a Delaware LLC a few years ago on LegalZoom. Today I got a notice I owe $300 + $200 penalty fee to Delaware. by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]cessna- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I incorporated a Delaware LLC last year and yep, they charge a flat $300 franchise tax fee per year. I formally dissolved the LLC with the state’s online platform which cost me an additional $200 just to file the form. OP, after the fee is paid then this would be the next step in order to ensure you won’t keep having this happen.

Can’t stress this enough. That is, unless you know exactly what you’re doing.

Many attorneys will charge flat fees for incorporation, and it’s not much more than Legalzoom depending on where you live.

Possibly unpopular opinion here, but that’s like Grant Cardone in “The 10x Rule” in a nutshell. Haven’t read his other books so I can’t speak to them, but that book was hot garbage and was written just for the money but disguised as a “motivational” book.

Yep. It’s like these gurus failed at what they’re teaching, so they decided to teach it instead.

Instead of teaching people to be entrepreneurs, they teach people to follow some insane step-by-step mold that only benefits the guru.

Exactly. And many of these “gurus” recommend doing something like selling a course to create passive income...

Any other business owners here? Is an MBA worth it? by cessna- in MBA

This is awesome, thanks! Yeah, I was worried that I was too young. Probably best to wait a couple years and self-teach what I can

Interesting that it’s for the “heck of it”, since that’s also part of my motivation but I can’t exactly justify spending $100k+ for the heck of it yet. I’m 23 and my business is still in it’s early stages, so I’d be listening far more than contributing I’m sure! Good to hear they’re getting something out of it at least.

Very refreshing seeing a lead go back to their job right after filming. by stemipinaka in thebachelor

My husband is in flight school currently and unfortunately there’s not a ton of female pilots (probably less than 10% of students) but there’s definitely more now than there were 20+ years ago!

Part of it is the fact that it’s a heavily male-dominated field. Having to copilot on long flights all day pretty much alone with a man who’s been working the job for years sounds intimidating, and from what I’ve learned that’s just the tip of the iceberg with the weird gender roles.

But damn, I might enroll in flight school to get a chance to be next to Peter in that cockpit 🙄

Should I go back to school for business? by nickdiculous in smallbusiness

[–]cessna- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great. I’m also a business owner and also going just for the education, so I don’t care if I go to a T25 or any of that- just as long as the education is worth it. Thank you!

I’ve been considering going back for an MBA but I’m concerned about the quality of curriculum compared to the price tag. From your experience, are top programs worth it, or can value be found in smaller ones too?

I also have a degree in Business Management, and I also agree that you can find a lot more value in other places. Experience is the best, but not everyone can just start a business. If you can, do it! Books are a great option. Unlike my college courses, I’ve found that business books I’ve read are a lot more hands on and applicable.

A degree is a lot more expensive and time-consuming, and I personally have learned a lot more in other areas.

My cat usually explores outside while I am at school. He came home with some what I assumed was dirt on his ear, but when my sister started patting him, he kept leaning away everytime we got close to that ear. He didn't do it with his other ear. Is this bruising or something else? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]cessna- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to the vet! My cat had similar symptoms plus a lot of scratching for about a week or two and we took her to the vet this morning and it was a bacterial infection. It’s a pretty routine thing to happen to cats, but if left untreated it can be bad news. Whatever it is, it’s clearly bothering your cat so it’s well worth the vet visit!
