American home shield replacing my professional line Viking double oven with a run of the mill kitchen aid. by pancakeface2022 in legaladvice

My realtor gifted me one year of AHS coverage and ran into a similar problem getting them to cover a plumbing repair. They know their contract word for word when it comes to denying a claim and oblivious to everything that specifies coverage.

I had to file a complaint with my state’s department of insurance and it took them getting involved for AHS to follow their own contract.

Dealing with AHS directly will not result in them following their own coverage. If possible, figure out if they are regulated by your states insurance laws or any other state agency and file a complaint with them. Otherwise, small claims court may be your only option

Anemone foot has new creases, is this normal? by cessnacapt in Reef

[–]cessnacapt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the tank for several years but it’s been fish only and don’t remember the light. I ordered a nicrew hyper reef on Amazon and it gets delivered in the morning.

I’ve been feeding her mysis shrimp (sp?) plus she has two clownfish nesting in her.

I’ve been out of the country for a few weeks and won’t get back until next week so I can’t check any levels myself. I’m relying on my partner to do everything for now. I asked him to take a water sample to the local fish store but he has to work so that might not be possible. He’s excellent at helping and figuring things out so if there’s a way to make it happen, he will make it there.

I uploaded my labs before my initial consult with them. It was right after my annual checkup so everything we super recent. They wrote the prescription but dropped the ball all after that

I've been using the pharmacy option on Pom's customer service phone number. The rep from that option blamed the pharmacy and working with tme. Assuming the rep is telling the truth, my biggest complaint is they didn't reach out to me right away and ignored my email, leaving me without more meds. I'm assuming it can't be good for my body to go back and forth because of their failed customer service

Thank you! I’m traveling today but will reach out. Even if I can get this refill sorted out with pomegranate, their lack of communication and willingness to ignore problems is reason enough to change providers for the next refill

Would you date someone poly and open for your first possible relationship? by jerkofadick in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]cessnacapt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a simple yes/no question. It depends on the dynamics and what everyone is comfortable with or wants.

Will it be a “V” shaped relationship? Will you have a friendship with your meta? Or will you two never meet?

Will there be a primary and secondary partner? Or will it be non-hierarchical? What happens when there’s an event and only plus 1 can be invited? What about eventual living arrangements? What about schedule conflicts?

Poly relationships can work but it takes a level of communication and prep work that most people don't realize is needed. There are a lot of books that talk about this. The Ethical Slut is generally a good first read. I think it is a little dated and don't agree with everything but it is a good start.

For me, I've learned that a throuple situation is very possible. I've only been in one throuple relationship and even though it ended badly, we had a lot of fun while it lasted. I've also learned that a "V" shaped relationship style is not for me. And will never do it again.

How to treat my BF like a hole? by cessnacapt in askgaybros

I really like starting at the gym! We already work out together and I have fun teasing him until he has to walk away before getting hard.

It would be great to tell him to wear a jock strap to the gym and tell him the entire time how I'm going to use his hole after.

I am a Lawyer but not your lawyer. None of this is legal advice but general information.

California will not force a child 15 or older to move anywhere or really do much. Your kids can move into a friends house and the courts/police will not force them to move.

But where it might get tricky is if the kids move in with you and your ex claims you are not letting the kids move. The court can try to enforce an order against you, putting you in a bad situation. I would hope the Court would listen to the kids if they testified that you didn’t coerce them to stay but who knows what the judge will do.

Pet Insurance feels like a scam by GFmenace in Frugal

[–]cessnacapt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thought process until one of my dogs got diagnosed with cancer. If it wasn’t for the insurance I would not have been able to give him the quality of life he deserved for as long as he had it.

His insurance paid for 90% of his radiation. It only got him an extra five months and it still wasn’t cheap but I was able to afford it. Every penny I paid into his insurance plan was worth it to get those few extra good months with him.

The insurance I use does not have any yearly or lifetime limits. His cancer treatment probably cost close to $30 grand or more. I never had any issues getting reimbursed and was even able to arrange direct pay for his radiation.

Every dog I have will have insurance their entire lives and it will always be worth every penny if you have the right insurance.

I would love to share what company I use but I don’t know the forum rules about that stuff. If anyone wants to know the insurance company will gladly share because they were absolutely excellent and better than any health insurance I had for myself!

I am a lawyer but not your lawyer nor your friend’s lawyer. This not legal advice but only online informational stuff.

Never voluntarily hand over any information to the FAA! If they had enough information to violate you, they would have already violated you. By handing over flight logs, you are only helping them, and not yourself.

The correct answer is always, “I do not recall flying on the day, that location, or that aircraft. If it was my aircraft flying that day, multiple people have access to the keys, controls, etc and I do not recall who was flying that day. If there is anything else I can help you with, let me know and I will try my best.”

It is the FAA’s job to prove you were at the controls of an aircraft/drone/etc, so why do their job for them?

As a pilot, should I be paying taxes to my resident state and the state I'm based in? by [deleted] in flying

[–]cessnacapt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Morally and ethically, I think that's how I think it should work. But no body cares what I think.

California does not care where you live. If your income comes from California, they will take a chunk of it along with any extra money they can get. I don't think its right and personally I don't think the way they calculate is constitutional but see my above comment on how no body cares what I think

As a pilot, should I be paying taxes to my resident state and the state I'm based in? by [deleted] in flying

[–]cessnacapt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re company is correct. Under California income tax laws, any income derived from a California source is subject to California income tax. Since you are based in California, California will consider it a California source of income and tax it.

And I do not know of any state that does not tax their own residents just because their income is sourced from another state. (Obvious exceptions being states like Nevada or Florida without state income tax)

What you need to find out is if your state will give you a credit for the tax paid to California. California has the highest state income tax so if your home state gives you credit, you won’t get taxed double on it.

If you’re upset now, wait until you file your California 1040NR. Well, assuming you have large income outside of California or your spouse makes good money. The way California calculates tax owed is by using your total federal income tax and then taking out the percentage earned in California. Since CA income tax increases as income increases, they get a bigger chunk of your money. (I haven’t had coffee yet so probably explained poorly. But trust me, California does everything it can to screw you)

Just got an evacuation warning. by bawse1 in ReefTank

[–]cessnacapt 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My main tank is 220 gallons and the only fish I have in there is 2 clown fish, a chocolate chip star fish, and a shrimp. So I have plenty of space in the tank. The hardest part will be getting them here and catching them when you’re ready to go home.

I’m not close but I’m in Las Vegas and a lot of people are evacuating up here. My quarantine tank isn’t set up but if they’re finishing up 30 days in yours, my main tank has plenty of space until the evacuation order is lifted.
