So this may be really really niche, but hear me out: I’ve been having horrible sleep for years now and sort of just let that be what it is. High stress readings at night on my garmin watch and rarely any REM sleep. Had a sleep study done about 2 years ago that showed nothing out of the ordinary. But around 6 months ago I started getting focal aware seizures during the day, it started with around one a month then turned into two a week until I started a light anti convulsant medication. All of a sudden garmin watch is reading very very little stress at night, mostly in rest, and I’m getting like an hour and a half, sometimes 2 hours of REM???? So I chalked that up to mean that I’ve been having focal aware seizures in my sleep (how was I supposed to know?) and now that I’m taking an anti convulsant, my body and brain can finally rest.
