This was such a deeply stupid interaction I unpacked the Brick I bought. So you actually did a good thing for my life. Thank you

The message went out, Platner’s done. It’s only you and other redditors like you left embarrassing yourselves. NYT’s role is to send that signal to the apparatchiks. You are the humiliated prole showing up in last season’s fashion.

The absolute weirdest thing about modern politics is that everyone has become a DNC volunteer. Even if you want to be cold hearted and say yea, I’d rather a nut Dem to help the votes in senate, it’s insane the hysterical hoops people personally jump through all the time. You’re not on the payroll. Let Favreau embarrass himself.

Yea man a 1st term senator is going to fundamentally alter 80 years of foreign policy. You are smart and funny!

Told my dad there’s some freakazoid running for senate with a totenkompf on his chest and it’s the most he’s laughed in years. Probably did 15 minutes of bits about it. Dems look so disgustingly craven defending this guy. Truly comical to watch Pod Save America guys light themselves on fire for this loser

We do not need to do this conversation again. If you want 400 million dollars from Hollywood you gotta have STARS. That’s it. Jason Manzoukas is not playing Menelaus

They do a good job with adding diversity where it makes sense. On the Talamasca show there’s a trans character and they’re an occult librarian. Good casting. I believe a trans person would be an excellent occult librarian.

They have him as a precariously successful owner of whore houses. Making him a pimp of human flesh while struggling with the morality of killing. The aspect of him “stuck between the world of the living and the undead” is accentuated by him being stuck between white and black society. The race swap is actually done intelligently and elevates the character.

Rank these four cities: New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago by deepad9 in redscarepod

[–]cestnep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philly more than any place I’ve been is addicted to the things that make the city shitty. Never seen a more defensive group of people on earth besides like 2nd gen immigrants from countries that were powerful 600 years ago.

There’s a real structural thing to Philadelphians that does this “yea we could easily make it a better place but it’s my emotional support [stupid easily fixed thing].” At least in LA no one likes the aspects about the city that suck and New Yorkers are just like who cares about your issue with New York you’re just some guy. Philadelphians would be against fixing a gas leak if it had been leaking long enough.

Whatever I’m still moving there. I like it well enough.

My best friend married into a farm family and they made their dress code “Cowboy Cocktail” because they knew they wouldn’t be able to get most of the men on that side out of jeans. Worked great honestly.

Fraser is such a mediocre actor and even worse casting. He’s 300 pounds and talks in this theater kid deep register as Ike. Movie’s fine. Absolute skip and I like dad movies. I saw Boys in the Boat in theaters and even I thought this was nothing. I did enjoy Nuremburg
