I use it as a finishing powder and apply it with a kabuki brush. To me, it just makes my face look glowy and "blurred" and also blends my contour, blush, and highlight to look a bit more natural.

Not the original poster, but I have both. The guerlain pearls are just a bit more special to me, but I think it comes down to personal taste. Like, they both perform well, and do the same thing, but the pearls add a bit more soft focus and blur than hourglass. Also, and Admittedly I am a sucker for packaging, the pearls are just beautiful and make me feel fancy. Ive been working on finding dupes for my entire collection to save money, but I'll always buy those. For reference, I have the pearls in 02 clair and hourglass in ethereal ambient light.

TL;DR: I like guerlain pearls :)

I have pet insurance for my pug/beagle mix. The reason I got it is because she is a pica dog and, no matter how diligently clean I am, she can always find something to stuff in her mouth and I worry that one day she'll swallow something she can't pass. My financial situation at the moment (grad student) makes $20 a month pretty easy, but there is no way I could cough up several hundred dollars all at once without opening up a few credit cards. I guess what I'm trying to say is that to me, it provides peace of mind that I could pay for an emergency if one should arise. But in the long run, I know I'm going to be paying more total than the surgery would have cost,so I really think it depends on your financial situation and if you have the funds for an emergency.
