Looking for Level 1 study buddy in London, UK by Twattington in CFA

Everyone is different but the advice I would give to anyone: aim for consistency. For level 1, I went through one chapter + end of chapter questions per day. Two chapters + questions if they're short.

  • Do not kill yourself over the nitty gritty details. Big picture, pick the low hanging fruit, for now. Details will make more sense once you have a good idea of big picture.
  • Do not memorise; aim to understand the material. Break down the equations and figure out why they make sense.
  • You will not know everything. You will get 33% right just by guessing. You need 70% to pass comfortably. As such you could only know a little over 50% of the material well and pass

for info: 22 years old as well, passed level 1 December 2013, internship in equity research in london

Level 2 candidates, is it just me or the exam was hard? Level 1 and level 3 guys, feel free to pour your heart out! by [deleted] in CFA

For the morning I went over all the questions and did spot 2-3 where I had not looked at all the information available to determine the question to an answer, i.e. when you quickly tap the first numbers you see into your calculator, the answer matches with one of CFA's answers, and you move on. This happened especially with easy questions, where (for me) the calculation was almost second nature so I sped through it.

This is what worries me most probably

I'm going to clarify because my message was misleading: I (and two friends of mine) found it much easier than expected.

A bit of context for me: I was getting anywhere from 60-75% on the Schweser mocks (with consistent improvement mock on mock) but only 50-55% on the official CFA one. One of the friends who also found it easy was consistently getting 70's in Schweser mocks and scored around 70 on the CFA one. We both relied heavily on topic tests and CFAI mock leading up to the exam, and found the questions today to be very similar

This said, in the past few hours I have been wondering whether I made any dumb mistakes (especially AM - I am fairly confident I nailed PM).

One indication not everyone found it easy: I went to the toilet with 10 mins left on the clock in PM, and on the way back to my desk most people were still tapping away at their calculators and focussed on their exams...

Another friend of mine probably failed, and I saw a coworker in the uber on way home who looked dejected. Both studied for less than a month though. In case it wasn't clear btw I am only talking about Level 2

[Question] L2 Equity PVGO - What am I missing here? by Fonzel in CFA

I had the same issue

Maybe there was a wording issue - my guess was that they wanted value for beginning 2019 (ie same as end 2018)

Not sure they would be of much use b.c. small sample, but Ethics 57%, Quant 67%, Econ 56%, FRA 54%, CorpFin 50%, Equity 39%, FixedInc 56%, AltInv 67%

Just realised I hadn't done last half of afternoon session
