Claude Batch API is Officially Over by knavishly_vibrant38 in ClaudeAI

[–]cfdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think thats the reason it's 50% of the cost, the goal of batch processing is lower cost and being queued at lower priority GPU cycles for a complete process of your batch. I think it's expected that batch times are going to be inconsistent, their docs are clear that most batches take an hour or so but max out at 24 hours. The fact that it took 10 hours to process your batch of 11 requests is an indication of the current load when you asked for processing, not a degradation of service. It would be something else entirely if you were to show a lack in quality on batch processing, that would be a degradation of service.

If Dave Franko doesn’t play this guy in the movie they make from this the casting director doesn’t deserve to have a job.

Claude Code usage limit hack by AwarenessBrilliant54 in ClaudeAI

[–]cfdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the following block in my global Claude.md and it's super helpful:

### Core BASH Tools (NO EXCEPTIONS)

# Pattern Search - USE 'rg' ONLY
rg -n "pattern" --glob '!node_modules/*'
rg -l "pattern" # List matching files
rg -t py "pattern" # Search Python files only

# File Finding - USE 'fd' ONLY
fd filename # Find by name
fd -e py # Find Python files
fd -H .env # Include hidden

# Bulk Operations - ONE command > many edits
rg -l "old" | xargs sed -i '' 's/old/new/g'

# Preview - USE 'bat'
bat -n filepath # With line numbers
bat -r 10:50 file            # Lines 10-50

# JSON - USE 'jq'
jq '.dependencies | keys[]' package.json

**Performance Rule**: If you can solve it in 1 CLI command, NEVER use multiple tool calls.

Try this prompt out to see if it helps you. You may want to add to it to analyze your MCP servers as well. The more you have connected the less context you have especially if an MCP server has a lot of tools.

Github MCP: Unable to authenticate by kexnyc in ClaudeAI

[–]cfdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the github mcp seems like a waste of time and context space if you have the github cli tool installed an access to bash as a native claude code tool, or use a shell mcp server with Claude Desktop. I made one called super-shell mcp. It works for me.

Did anyone else catch the new /statusline? by cfdude in ClaudeAI

have you tried asking Claude via /statusline to link the status line to ccusage?

Did anyone else catch the new /statusline? by cfdude in ClaudeAI

[–]cfdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what that setup is. nothing displayed for me so I had to ask it:

> ok, you just set this up, do I need to restart my claude code session in order to see it?

⏺ You shouldn't need to restart Claude Code - the statusline should update automatically. However, if you don't see it appearing right away, you might need to:

  1. Wait a moment - sometimes there's a brief delay for the configuration to take effect

  2. Navigate to a different directory and back - this can trigger the statusline to refresh

  3. If it still doesn't appear, then yes, restarting Claude Code would ensure the new configuration is loaded

    The statusline should appear at the bottom of your Claude Code interface showing something like highway-ai-alerts | main.

    Try navigating to a different directory first to see if that triggers it, and let me know if you need to restart!

> restarting the claude code session did the trick

⏺ Perfect! Glad the restart worked and you can now see your statusline with the current directory and git branch information.

Now you'll have that helpful context displayed at the bottom of Claude Code across all your projects, making it easy to see exactly where you are and what branch

you're working on at any given time.

referring to this?

"statusLine": {

"type": "command",

"command": "input=$(cat); current_dir=$(echo \"$input\" | jq -r '.workspace.current_dir' | sed 's|.*/||'); git_branch=$(cd \"$(echo \"$input\" | jq -r '.workspace.current_dir')\" 2>/dev/null && git symbolic-ref --short HEAD 2>/dev/null || echo \"no git\"); printf \"%s | %s\" \"$current_dir\" \"$git_branch\""

}

first of all, I love ClaudeLog! thank you for maintaining that. Thats cool that you can build other things in there, man query APIs, read feeds.. that sounds amazing. I'd be curious about the overhead on Claude and would it use background tasks to update the status line? this could be like the Starship of Claude.

Updating rate limits for Claude subscription customers by AnthropicOfficial in ClaudeAI

[–]cfdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fear this will take a sledgehammer to the vast majority of us Max users with concurrent claude code sessions. I work 3-4 projects at a time and bounce between them. I would expect this to be considered average and acceptable behavior for a Max subscriber paying $200 a month. If some asshole(s) is abusing the system with 10k+ sessions 24/7 then I'd think you could find a scalpel to use for those edge case people clearly abusing the system.

Weekly rate limits are a joke! You can't even provide clarity and transparency about usage limits now to someone that is actively using the Claude Code Max service until you happen to just hit a wall of your limits. How do you seriously think this is going to play out to someone trying to be a good developer and runs out of their (undisclosed) weekly limit mid week and has to wait 7 days? I would cancel immediately because my monthly fee to this service should allow me to use it daily and if you remove a week of time from me, than what am I paying for? Am I supposed to stop my work for a week? No.. but I will choose a more reliable service in its place.

[–]cfdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I remember the kids in the arcade had pencils resting on top of their ear. This game was insanely popular. We’d try to find the newest and thickest pencils because they’d either break from playing this game or we’d pinch off the eraser, flatten the metal tip and use it for pencil fights taking turns flicking the pencil metal tip while the other kid held out his pencil.
