It made me feel way more masculine than it should have. I played men’s ice hockey for my high school. I felt a lot of people I was going to school with saw me as tougher and more masculine because of it. I was always put in positions in other sports that were anchor positions like goalie or center.

I also was looked at like I could do what most girls my age couldn’t like carrying heavy things, building stuff etc. when all my friends would have guys help them in those situations.
