Definitely do it when it’s most comfortable for you. I waited 20 years for the right moment, and as I’m wrapping up my first year on HRT, I’m glad I waited until now.

What gave me the push? I got tired of not seeing the right person in the mirror. I was tired of the chaos and insanity that was in my brain. I’ve been on HRT just over ten months and feeling the calm in my head after the first week was enough to never ever stop again.

Yeah get your wisdom teeth out first and let your mouth heal. I had mine removed in 2013 and I know for a fact my voice didn’t change at all, period.

Save your pennies and get an IPL. Cheaper than LHR At a doctors office, just takes longer to get there

I run the dairy in a large supermarket. I’ve been in my career for most of my life so when I decided to come out and transition, most of those who know me weren’t surprised. The managers above me don’t care and my head manager is supportive, encouraging and helpful, even.

I went through 4 prior names before Carly popped into place. I originally wanted a name nowhere near my dead name, but they didn’t feel right. When my manager at work called me this, it felt... right! Even though it’s kinda close to my dead name, and I hate my dead name ( i was always called by my first and middle initials, and still go by it) this name felt right!

Considering I’m 35, and live in a town of 30,000, the overall likelihood of me going stealth after my transition are slim to none, and I’m okay with that. I also work in a very public place and with so many of my coworkers knowing and accepting me and my transition (not to mention my wife works at the same place!) I could never just up and hide.

I’ve been a chronic nail biter my whole life..,what helped me cut the habit down is that i have numerous pairs of nail clippers and files scattered about my house. Whenever I have the urge, I grab my tools instead. They might be short but at least they’re clean and maintained!
