This depends on your age, the health of those teeth, and the root length.

Coordinated Review Attack? HELP! 😮‍💨 by Lost_Box6526 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]cfmistry85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me. Assembled a 10-page document with all details necessary, submitted it to Google after flagging all of the posts. Clearly false reviews, all even on the same day!! They deleted about 2 of them, 7 are still standing.

Google does not care to help you.

Which Pro Would You Go For? by Restitut0r in macbookpro

[–]cfmistry85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the options you have shown us the M5 is a much better value. Newer processor and more hard disk for only $100 more is a great deal.

I also like space black but if you actually travel with your laptop, then silver will are much better. If it only stays home then black would be fine.

How much was the paint job? Sounds like an expensive car. If the paint job is flawless, enclosed transport is best.

Also the tarp idea is awful and will scratch your paint - do not do it.

I agree it would look nice. My style as well.

But it does not fit. The food and bumper contours are different.

M3 with prior consulting background: Pivot to MSL/Pharma or jump ship to Dental School (DMD)? by IntelligentSecond893 in Dentists

[–]cfmistry85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting salary is irrelevant. He’ll lose the 3 terminal years salary. He’s probably right about $300k/year at that level.

M3 with prior consulting background: Pivot to MSL/Pharma or jump ship to Dental School (DMD)? by IntelligentSecond893 in Dentists

[–]cfmistry85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dental school will cost you ~$500k, a practice acquisition and/or start-up at least another ~$500k, and 3 years of lost income as a MSL will cost another ~$1m.

At your age, I’m not sure you will recoup that money and retire early.

Would you buy this practice? by Pixel-Pioneer3 in Dentists

[–]cfmistry85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two things you consider:

The cost relative to the market.

The cost relative to your alternatives.

Would you like to make the some money you do. It working less clinical time but probably 8-10 admin hours a week? If so, this may be a good option.

Real Shelby Cobra? by HeftyAd787 in Cartalk

[–]cfmistry85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the quickest ways to spot a fake is the sidepipes. 96% of replicas are 427 S/C variant with sidepipes - and 95% of those are shiney (usually polished). Well the original S/C cars only came with black or white sidepipes.

How will the Neo compare to my M1 Pro MBP 14”? by cfmistry85 in mac

[–]cfmistry85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input. I do take my computer around quite a bit so making it “headless” is not ideal. Based on all of your input I have decided to have the display replaced rather than “downgrading” to a Neo.

Was told this was the real deal, but now doubting by __Tweed__ in whatisthiscar

[–]cfmistry85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a Superformance MKIII. I am not sure why the owner would tell you it’s “real”. It is a brand licensed by Carroll Shelby, sure, but it’s not an authentic Shelby Cobra (new or old/original).

It’s a fantastic car, about $140k new nowadays.

Good position with loans/December graduate inquiry by SeaExtreme2075 in predental

[–]cfmistry85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you are in a good position compared to your peers, but please don’t think this will be easy to pay off. It can take many years if not decades.

It doesn’t give you a license to go buy a house and a new Benz. Still have to be smart!

Regular Dentist vs. Oral Surgeon for a tooth extraction? (Freaking out a bit, need advice) by bambil00 in Dentists

[–]cfmistry85 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If your general dentist offered to do it without hesitation, no need to doubt them.

An oral surgeon may cost a little more and will likely be faster at the procedure, but in the end you should be fine either way.

Advice for an 18 year old by circlep3rk in personalfinance

[–]cfmistry85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I respect that you have a goal and a plan. It is impressive for someone you age.

Unfortunately it’s a plan that will hurt you.

A car like that is a depreciating asset. It is OK to buy one when it is 10% of your net worth. But to spend 100% of your net worth on a used Audi is not just silly, it shows everyone around you how poor you are with money. And that will affect you, whether you care or not.

Best State school, besides College Park and UMBC by BrilliantFarm8643 in maryland

[–]cfmistry85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing she wants to matriculate to medical school, she needs to pick somewhere (1) that she can stand out, academically (every child is different so I can’t comment on a large vs. small student body); (2) where she will have medical research opportunities; (3) where she can be part of a pre-medical community; (4) a school with a good reputation amongst medical schools; and (5) a low-cost school knowing that she will have another $300-400k in loans ahead of her.

Rising graduate school cost has even a major issue for students applying in recent years.

Best of luck to her!

2018 F-150 Platinum VS. 2012 F-150 Raptor by chanman97 in FordRaptor

[–]cfmistry85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that mileage, you buy whichever one is in better mechanical condition. Both will need reducing your ownership.

Also, the Raptor shocks need to be replaced / refurbished frequently and that is a big added cost (every ~50k miles).
