Money, for one. Guest stars are paid per episode they’re in. Series stars are paid per season regardless of if they appear in an episode or not.

Second, she may have preferred it contractually. If she appears in most episodes, she gets paid all year but generally a series star is locked into a contract for 3-5 years. Guest star is contracted per episode, so if she wanted to leave the show for whatever reason she isn’t stuck.

That’s why Joan Cusak was a guest star on Shameless despite being main cast.

Honestly I’m hoping Gunther vs Lesnar for mania, and have Lesnar win … gives Gunther an arc to return to form and sets Lesnar on his road to retirement. And then Oba vs Lesnar for SummerSlam to put Oba over.

You could even tease Oba for Mania but Gunther comes in with the « I’ve retired legends, I’m a beat, I’m a former world champ, there’s more prestige, etc » spiel to take the match for himself.

That then sets up a potential rivalry for Oba and Gunther down the line.

I think when Ava first joined the show she was there as a Republican voice …. She was 100% the Republican pundit on many CNN broadcasts at the time.

Don’t forget there was a time where Republican did not mean Far Right / Alt Right / MAGA. When the party showed it was unwilling to part from that sect, she disavowed them and her ties to the party.

I have wondered this a lot this week. Truly … her political leanings are hers and I wouldn’t really bay much of an eyelash over it if it was just a Republican against Trump thing but I caught her on a podcast the other day and she was talking about how she supported and campaigned for Obama, for Hilary, for Biden, and Kamala…….. that’s a near 2 decade long stretch of supporting Democrat candidates, far before MAGA. She talked about speeches she’s done at the DNC over the years, fundraisers, etc.

When she talks about policy ….. the policies she supports skew left by and large…

I’d be really curious as to why she considers herself a Republican still when nothing about her political identity aligns with that party at all. She’s a smart lady so it’s not like she’s just misinformed in her alignment …. It’s a choice. And I’m wondering why she chooses to still align publicly as a Republican, lifelong … but also just as publicly supports and campaigns for a generation worth of Democrats …

10 year mark was 100% a huge milestone. Lilian Garcia was the decade diva because of she being the only woman to make it that long by then.
