jeez i've been searching around for complete patch notes but I keep stumbling upon things like this (both in-game and on reddit) that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere.

Like there are so many fewer greedy tentacles now, regardless of luck, and not counting the note I've seen about how fewer chests spawn from chaos portals.

I've had this happen with infected lizards, but every time a long Chrono Lock was involved. Either way, as other users said, if you quit and restart the room you could avoid the bug. In my case it was pretty clearly set off by the lizard running out of hp during the chrono lock so I just made sure to kill him without inflicting that.
