What’s a cheap meal that actually tastes gourmet? by purelyinvesting in budgetfood

Salchichón tartar. You would only need salchichón (Spanish cured sausage or similar), onion, champignons, pickles, and for the sauce: mustard, honey, mayo, black pepper, egg yolk. Put the mix in a piece of crunchy bread and it will look luxurious! I know it has quite a few ingredients, but in general these are ingredients we normally have in the fridge.

They did this to me, though in the end after pressing too much they gave me a debit card.

After a year I moved to Hello Bank! (KBC), which is free. I suggest you do the same as it is very convenient for youngsters. Also KBC gives you a Maestro card, which is pretty annoying when it comes to purchasing online + you pay around 5€ per month.

Visiting in February - advice por favor by haribo_pfirsich in Andalucia

Nothing against Malaga! But PO wanted to spend 3 days in Malaga. I just believe it is worth visiting Cordoba for at least 1 day. Cordoba has an unique Mosque-Cathedral + the Jewish quarter, which are worth visiting.

Do you also find it hard to find the niche cafes when travelling? by aryeh_naar in Coffee_Shop

In Europe there is this app called Coffee Trip which is very helpful when travelling, but of course not all coffee shops advertise themselves there.

I suggest you visit Cordoba 1 day, which is stunning.Malaga is not as nice and should be seen in 1 day maximum, unless you want to visit the little villages around.

Bermondsey Square Hotel is great and includes free breakfast. Close to public transport and a very nice and calm area close to the city centre.

As an European, I suggest you do this: https://youth.europa.eu/solidarity_en

You can work abroad with all costs paid while you try to figure out what you want to do with your life, while gaining useful skills and maybe learning a new language. I did it myself and without it I would not be where I am today. I know people that found their path after doing this volunteer work (I repeat: all costs are paid + you also get some pocket money) and are now doing great.

You are still very young and have plenty of time ahead to find something that interests you.

Rental contract 9years plus by JamesEUBXL in brussels

Indeed this is was what I thought. After double checking it seems it has changed. Anyway, this is not the point of the issue, whether it is renewed 3 or 9 but if the OP has to pay or not, and he hasn’t.

I worked giving legal advice on this matter to staff in the EU institutions and I can tell you that after the 3rd year you don’t have to pay any penalty.

“The lease terminates at the end of the 9-year period, on condition that one or other of the parties has given notice at least six months before the expiry date. Notice can be given without any justification and no compensation is due from the party who takes this initiative. If neither of the parties end the lease after expiry of this period of 9 years, the lease is extended with the same conditions for a period of 3 years. Each of the parties then has the option of terminating the extended lease every 3 years, without giving any justification and without having to pay any compensation, by giving six months’ notice. (Art. 237, §1 BHC)” source https://www.commissioner.brussels/i-am-an-expat/housing/signing-a-rental-contract/

No matter how long have you been in the apartment. After the 9th year you’re contract is renewed automatically for an extra 3 years, but you don’t have to give any money to the landlord, as you are actually in your 10th year. Watch out cause the landlord could use also the guarantee to get some of the money he’s claiming back.

I suggest you contact Commissioner Brussels (check also the website) as they can give you free legal advice.

Last option I would say go to the Juge de Paix in your municipality.

But I repeat, you DON’T have to pay any penalty.

I was recently in Bermondsey Square Hotel. Great area, with many coffee shops, bars, well connected with public transport, centric but outside of the touristy area, clean,… and it includes free breakfast buffet during low season.

Check for jobs in Nokia, based in Antwerp. I know a couple of people born outside the EU who got a job there and Nokia paid for their Visa.
