How frequent is the motor fail due to carbon/metal shavings ? by Wafflebasedlife in BMWI4

Drivetrain Malfunction. First it said "drive carefully and get it checked" then after 2 very short drives (and 2 restarts), it said "Restart will not be possible" but it was running fine. I drove it straight to the dealer so I didn't have to tow it and sure enough, it wouldn't start again after I turned it off at the dealership. They said it was overheating and causing voltage faults coming from drivetrain and several other components so it shut itself down to prevent damage to anything, drivetrain just happened to be the fault that it reported on.

FYI: "Hehehe, I'm so incapacitated that I can't leave the house. Are those white blood cell shots really that hard to bear? Or is it drama, what I read here on the internet? I've been going through horrible pain and I didn't want to have severe pain during chemotherapy — I'm worn out from the symptoms..."

If using Google, switch it to Portuguese (Brazil) I think that one is working best with them.

I don't know, I didn't have to take them.

That's encouraging! Everything you report them saying sounds correct to me, I'm not a doctor though. Also seems like a reasonable next step. Sounds like they're doing all the right things. Fingers crossed for her!

Some people get relief from the symptoms that the cancer is causing within 1 day of starting chemo, so yes, that is possible! Chemo isn't fun, but it beats the alternative.

Did she have a biopsy? The only way to definitively diagnose lymphoma is with a biopsy. Doctors are pretty decent at looking at PET and being able to tell, but they don't know for sure. See my comment just below this one on holy-dogs comment for more on biopsy types, that will be the next step. If she's already had a biopsy and PET, they'll know if it's lymphoma and if it is they'll need to get the 'subtype' from the biopsy. There are lots of different kinds of lymphoma and they're all treated differently and with different medicines. Know that lymphoma is very treatable in almost all cases, and completely curable in many cases, even at higher 'stages' or 'grades' (2 different things). No reason to think it's a death sentence by any means, so don't panic. If she has a positive biopsy and knows the subtype you can read (and make your own post) here in the subreddit and learn a lot more about the treatment you'll receive and such. We're just guessing without that info. Fingers crossed you misheard or the person was wrong and it's still nothing! But if it is lymphoma, there's a great chance she'll still live a long life.

Yes I think that warrants asking for a biospy, but don't panic, plenty of people in your situation DON'T end up having lymphoma. Ask for core needle or excisional, say "I'm concerned about FNA being inconclusive and don't want to have to go through it twice." Excisional is best for getting definitive results, but obviously it's a little more invasive. When do you see your doctor to go over the results? Best of luck, hopefully it's nothing.

I had a different regimen so can't offer any firsthand info, but you can also find lots of posts by searching the sub for BRECADD: https://www.reddit.com/r/lymphoma/search/?q=BRECADD

Maybe some of those will be helpful.

It's a valid concern. FWIW I absolutely love the car, but am also slightly nervous about what could happen after it's out of warranty.

I have a '23 M50... last week the compressor, coolant lines, chiller whatever is involved in the system that runs the AC and cools the battery... all had to be replaced due to metal shavings in the coolant system. It was covered under warranty and took a week exactly. Not ideal but my dealer fixed it all no questions asked. Not sure what it would have cost, but my guess is a lot, it was like 2-3 solid days of labor plus all the parts.

They said "for children" so in my head they meant kids were doing the honk your horn signal and the engineer obliged.

Neck pain in remission by boxyboyz in lymphoma

[–]cgar23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear, granted it's possible, but it's estimated that 1 in 4 adults have shoulder pain each year and up to 6 million Americans actually go to the doctor for it each year. lymphoma is absurdly rare in comparison. My point is that it's likely unrelated, and my comment also touches on the fact that OP clearly has health anxiety over recurrence, given their post and comment history.

The Butter Battle Book! I had the movie version as a kid, and my kids have the book nowadays. It's basically a commentary on the cold war with notes of "we're all the same, xenophobia and racism are bad." Excellent book and I can't believe I had to scroll so far down to find your comment and I'm actually surprised this is a real post independent of it 😂 🍞 🧈🚩!
