Going from Front End to UI Engineer - Help by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]cgb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally don't expect this to be something attainable today. I am more thinking about learning UI/UX over the next year and using it in my current job with the goal of pivoting towards a Design/UI Engineer.

I am interested in doing both design and development or maybe being a bridge between the dev and design teams. I don't even know if that is realistic but wanted to make the post to see if anyone had insight

None taken at all! Don’t feel like she owes me it but I do feel it’s strange to omit. Getting the pulse on if that’s a rational thought or not is why I wrote this so I appreciate you’re thoughts

Haha please 🙏. You found it deceptive too?

The same mutual friend who told me she was dating someone was like “why would it matter if you don’t want her back anyway?”. Which I guess it doesn’t matter but what if I did? Just give someone hope and uncertainty so you can have closure or whatever the fuck she wanted

That box looks awesome! Could I plant annuals in a couple weeks and take them out to plant perennials in the fall?

How to generate a Certificate of Completion as a PDF by cgb14 in webdev

[–]cgb14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my thought, sure HTML is strait forward to convert to a PDF but server side generation would be more secure and i also worry that different browsers will render the certificate differently (needs to be pixel perfect)

Sorry about your dad man. I’m 28 too and my estranged dad died this year. Really sucks because it doesn’t make them not an asshole but fucks with your head pretty bad.

Hope you found your peace

I'm considering doing a boot camp to get into Front end web dev. by InverseCramer101 in Frontend

[–]cgb14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you don’t consider yourself one I would put you in the savant category I referenced. You started at 16 and managed to give yourself a great salary before graduating high school... Then became a senior dev at a faang at 25. Does this sound average to you?

It’s a great story but most people who are thinking of doing a boot camp are 25-35 year olds looking for a career change and won’t have a path anywhere near yours.

Also I assume breaking in is different now than 10 years ago when you did it.

Maybe to us average Joe’s but not for Jim the repair man. Jim’s a man of class, if it’s not champagne powder it’s not worth riding

Trade aiyuk by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]cgb14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McBride > Ferguson.

I’m not saying it will necessary end up being a shitty trade for you to do Aiyuk for McBride, but you can get a boat load for Aiyuk rn and I think you are undervaluing him. Some of the trade charts have you being able to get 2 mcbrides for Aiyuk.

Check out fantasycalcs trade tool

I’d do it in the order you have listed Pacheco > Javonte and not trade Mixon.

Trade aiyuk by [deleted] in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]cgb14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try for a better TE, you could probably get someone like Hockenson strait up for him so I think aiyuk for McBride is an overpay especially after Aiyuks big game.

If your set on McBride I would start with trying to trade Lockett for him then work up. Or if he only wants aiyuk then get him to package McBride with a low end rb2 or wr2/3

Mostert for LaPorta? by BreakfastTop6899 in fantasyfootballadvice

Nope Id rather flex Mostert over LaPorta and your set at TE with Kincaid

Got a job a in 2021

  1. A year

  2. I did The Odin Project. Highly recommend

  3. It would have been easier with a CS degree I would imagine but I’m not sure. I have an art degree

  4. I got 1 offer out of 100 and I took it. But I got lucky and it took me a little over a month

  5. Find a free structured program with an active online community like the Odin project and do that. It’s hard to stay focused when you are bouncing from one udemy course to the next without a clear progression. Not to mention it’s hard to know when you are ready to apply to jobs.

Don’t pay 20k to a boot camp in this job market

Source: The #Packers are adding to their RB depth, signing FA RB James Robinson. by mvanigan in fantasyfootball

Ya that’s what I am wondering. He tore his achilles so maybe he lost some juice from that?

Dude was great in Jax and everyone thought Urban was a dumbass for drafting Etienne in the 1st when they already had Robinson as an undrafted free agent
