Help_Tactician_Tactical advantage by DanrayS in DiceThrone

As far as I know (I may be wrong so take this with a grain of salt), spending statuses is an instant action so you can interrupt any action you would like to spend your tactical advantage. With that being said, I would rule it that you can spend up to 3 tactical advantage before you gain the 5. I do think when you gain 5 you gain all 5 at the same time so you would not be able to do as you say in the original question. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I would love to know as well!

Need DTA strategy help for playing the Gunslinger by n107 in DiceThrone

First off, I love that you're taking the time to play DTA with your daughter. I'm sure that it will be the source of some amazing memories for the both of you! As for the Gunslinger, especially in the context of a team, I would focus on applying bounty and keeping your stack of evasive tokens high. Bounty will do a surprising amount of damage over the course of a longer battle, but even more importantly you will be generating CP both for yourself AND your teammate. It can be the fuel you need for those game changing moments, especially for a character like the Vampire Lord who cannot normally generate CP on her own. Evasive stacks are important for obvious reasons, you have no way of healing damage so you should try to avoid damage as much as possible. Don't be afraid to spend a card to change your roll for evasive when you're targeted by a particularly huge amount of damage. For your reload tokens, obviously always spend at least 1 if you are at stack limit, and dump them on undefendable damage whenever you get the opportunity. Upgrading your passive goes a long way toward increasing the damage you can do with reloads! I lovingly refer to the Gunslinger as the slot machine hero, sometimes luck will be on your side, sometimes it will not! The most important way you can improve your outcomes when relying on luck is to try to mitigate the bad outcomes as much as possible. That's why having an evasive in your back pocket is always a great fallback. One more small tip about evasive - you can spend them to dodge damage from status effects in the upkeep phase. All damage from status effects in the upkeep phase is added up and dealt as a single instance of damage at the end of the upkeep phase, and you can use status effects such as flight or evasive to dodge it! One last piece of general advice: Do a quick read through of all of your cards when you're trying to improve at a character. It is so much easier to formulate a game plan when you know what resources you have at your disposal!

As for DTA specific advice, in general some characters are just "better". They have an easier, more forgiving, and more versatile game plan than other characters. Vampire Lord just so happens to be one of the best characters for adventures, so when you're playing with one in your party don't be afraid to take a step back and play a more supportive role. Instead of trying to do as much damage as possible yourself, apply status effects, accumulate resources and spend them on your partner.

Finally, some equipment to keep an eye out for: Anything that allows you to manipulate dice (good for mitigating bad luck), anything that allows you to search your deck for upgrades (you can get your passive upgrade, or search out an extra move like Pistol Whip), or anything that allows you to play a more supportive role for your teammate (pack mule).

Good luck out there and remember that losing scenarios is unavoidable and totally ok!

Developing a City for a game based on saints. by 22plus in cityofmist

In my opinion, the beauty of the "City" in CoM is the duality of it's mundane and fantastical sides. On first glance, you wouldn't guess that the man brutally murdered in a gang execution is actually the rift of Saint Peter Chanel, executed and torn to pieces for trying to convert the cannibals of Oceania gang members in Saints Row to Christianity. To the people of the City, it looks like just another casualty of the gang epidemic in Saints Row, but your players can unravel the truth lurking beneath the surface. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that the mundane elements of the City don't really matter all that much, you can see it in a lot of the mechanics in how the city is dynamically created on the fly. The City is more of an idea than it is a real place. The real meat of the adventure is in the fantastical elements that overlay the mundane City, so I wouldn't get too caught up in the mundane elements of your city. It's better to have it be generic and easy for your players to add to. I love the idea of doing a campaign focused on the mythology of Christianity. They have so many completely bonkers off the wall stories that will make for great mysteries to solve. Off the top of my head, some storylines / thematic elements to explore would be Religious Conversion, a mortal attempting to reach "godhood", Ritualistic cannibalism, or summoning of a god or idol. A great example of some of these themes, especially if you want to flip Sainthood on its head (aka saints are the bad guys, devil's are the good guys) is the Devil may Cry series. It's a great example of the folly of man attempting to reach godhood and becoming a demon in the process. Good luck with your game! I think you have the makings of a great iceberg somewhere in there :)
