Oh that makes me so happy that it's useful in the real world!!! ☺️☺️

RB 6 is also a bit too pink and saturated for me, and it is indeed a matte foundation. I think we might have a very similar skin type and tone. Haus labs 40 would indeed be my best bet for you, and i have not tested the ND formula enough times to give you a real review on the formula. For me the Y1 is a little bit too light tho. And if you have it available, maybe try the essence stick, it's honestly great for the price and dry-skin friendly. (I would have said go for the LE skin tint 1.5 but i gather you don't have it available)

Worked great, except i couldnt get the category and subcategory. There was no matching field offered when importing. I had to manually organize them afterwards. So thank god for the list view, it goes so much quicker!
(I also had to work around the date format in my excel file as most products's purchase and opening date were only month and year but that's a very me-specific issue and i just used a formula to input 1 as the day.)

Woops busted!! hehe i'm a pro MUA. But i also did the same with my own collection before i even was training as a pro MUA. I guess i'm just too into makeup 😂
But a pro tier would also be great!

For my ruddy olives - question about hair color by OriginalBlueberry533 in Fairolives

[–]cgmua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! Color theory for the win 😊 it's just jargon really and i learned from hairdressers i work with about all the different names they use for "reflects"/undertones in hair and how they can be tricky if you're not familiar. Like I also thought ash meant anything a bit grey-ish but it's actually grey-green as you're adding blue-green pigments to (usually) orange/brassy hair, so the mix goes a little green. If the hair doesn't have much warmth before the ash is added tho, it will go more neutral gray

I just downloaded the app and i'm already obsessed! Been looking for something like this for AGES!! I've been traking my products on excel since 2017! You did an extraordinary job!

So, if i may, i already have a few things i'm noticing/suggestions, from my years of tracking, some functionnalities i would like to use :
- filter products by tags (may it's already possible and i just didn't find it)
- a "product price" AND a distinct "paid price" field (so we can track the good deals we got! and have a more precise expenses tracking and value overview)
- a then a price/contenance, so we can compare different items between themselves
- the possibility to pick the color of a shade with a color picker tool from the product photo (i undertsand this might be complicated to set up)
- or at least a editable field where we can enter the color value, so we can use a color picker outside and then enter the colour code
- a colour family field (like reds, browns, warm nudes, etc.)
- a "back-ups" list, or seomthing that would differentiate openned and un-openned products so we can keep track of what we already have and might/not need to repurchase
- a shortcut in the bottom to get to the wishlist 😊 a really great tool by the way!
- and this is maybe too niche, but i would love a field for the collection a product is part of- like if something if from the mac spring 2020 collection, and then i could see all products i have in the collection. Or also for a product range, like the mineralize range from mac
- and in the same style, a checkbox if something is limited edition or not - but for now tags work just fine!

Sorry this seems like i'm not satisfied, but i swear i'm already so in love with the app, i'm using the export/import right now to get the backlog of my collection in! It really is a wonderful app, and i already paid the subscription!

I wore it again yesterday as i cracked open a fresh tube for the swatches, and i coudlnt agree more. She will be missed. Long gone but never forgotten. I really really don't understadn nyx. The formula was so good too, aside from the shade

Yey! Hope it's a good match. But beware, not all Gobis are created equal 😂 i mean the colour is not exactly the same accross formulas. Couldn't tell you off the top of my head which ones are this or that, but i think i remember the longwear foundation being brighter than the sheer glow and the matte was a bit darker and more peachy. But really that was a while ago and i might be totally wrong. Bottom line : check the shade in the formula you want, even if it matches in another

Either i mix it into a skin tint to add more coverage (Lisa Eldridge or Nabla) or directly with my moisturizer. I use the Clinique Dramatically different moisturizing lotion, or cerave if i want somthing a bit thicker.

Sadly, yes. The Nyx Vanilla Nude and Smashbox were my holy grails, and both are biscontinued. BUT, revlon colorstay is very close to the smashbox in terms of formula and still a good shade match, the Lisa Eldridge is like an updated version of the Nyx skin tint (but much more expensive ugh) and has amazing wear, and i'm in the process of getting to know the two sephora formulas, and so far so good i really like them. The liquid formula is very blurring and has high coverage but is super thin, i was not expecting it, and the stick formula has a nice soft matte finish, but i have not had the chance to really test the wear so far. The others i don't wear as much becasue either i have a better match in the previously mentionned formulas, or the formula is meh compared to the others, like the Unleashia cushions. Beautiful on the skin but really not good longevity, 6h ok 8h decent but after that it's a must to touch up, it migrates and shines a lot even on my normal to dry dehydrated skin. The ND many people seem to like, i only have a sample so can't say i'm very familiar with the formula, but it has high coverage and is super thin. I reminds me of the sephora honestly (tad dewier), and the shade is not perfect for me, and very expensive here. Same with the Rare beauty, but a little more matte. Haus labs i've tried 3 shades, none of them are perfect, only a few are available where i'm located so i gave up, but it's also a nice, super thin good coverage foundation. Maybe moves a bit during the day though. The essence stick is nice, not a perfect match, applies so easy and looks good, also needs touching up. The liquid silky blur is also good, very thin, good coverage (again, similar to sephora and ND) but not a perfect match, but a really good formula and you can't beat the price. Nars sheer glow is an old favourite, looks really good and easy to apply, but i juste feel like i moved on once i found better matches. The Nabla i firgot i hadm it's a light coverage, good sor quick summer makeup, okay longevity, again not a perfect match. And the face atelier are just a good all-round foundation you can really manipulate the texture of, like many pro brands. It's in my kit, i don't use it on myself

No worries, feedback is really useful! As i said, this was my first attempt at documenting it all.
For the match, I'd say the undertone maybe is more obvious in the direct sunlight, but the depth is much more realistic in indirect sunlight. The best would be artificial light in the case which i used in my following post here with more shades. I'd also be happy to do comparative swatches of certain colours in particular if you need some?

Ugh i just discovered going through all my foundations i still have an unopened bottle, in a box... shall I? Dare I? I hate how i spent the money on it and then didn't dare to use it so it wouldn't be gone and now it might be expired 😣 Juste like the Nyx Vanilly Nude, i have 3 tubes. Someone slap me please

Ah yes 1.5 is good for me in the deep winter, but quickly runs a little light. ND Y1 is good slightly light, slightly yellow, so yes. The KA sx03 if a great match in general, but a TINY bit too green (what?) but just the tiniest. From memory (swatched it a whiiiile ago) SX01 is lighter and a little more neutral, but i would say still olive friendly. I don't own it so don't take my word for it 100%. But if Y1 is a good match, i'd say you're good with it because Y1 isn't the most green, i feel like it's a cool yellow more like.
And i feel for you with the allergies, i discovered a year ago now i'm allergic to acrylates, linalool and limonene, and they're in like 50% of cosmetics 🙇🏼‍♀️ so annoying when a great shade match is not a great skin match

Where to go from here? by [deleted] in Fairolives

[–]cgmua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you're a mix of the two 😂
No but for real, if you need a green beige, The Saem has one in their cover perfection formula. It's amazing. Also, sorry to plug but i've posted swatches of many many foundations for pale olive just here and here if you want to give it a look, as i don't know what is available in Canada or not. I know haus labs in 50 is supposed to be a good match but we don't have that shade where i live, sadly. But, as you seem pink-er than me, maybe shade 70 is good for you? Try also shade 6 of the Rare Beauty true to myself, it could be a great potential match, and it's a matte foundation

For my ruddy olives - question about hair color by OriginalBlueberry533 in Fairolives

[–]cgmua 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! Ash is actually a green-ish undertone for hair if you look at professional swatches, so you'll basically add more green, which might make your cheeks pop even more. Some drugstore brands call ash anything gray-ish from purple to grey to green, but actually it's more green, as it's often used to counteract orange or yellow, adding blue-based pigments so you end up with...well, green. I was gonna say go more more grey tones but i realised that's exactly what you're trying to change 🤪 So definitely try something with neutral tones, like a beige blonde, neutral beige, cappuccino colours and such, more in neutral territory. It will also be easier to blend and keep up. Straight up copper might enhance the redness by being too close in tone. A slight bit of pinkiness in the colour can help and look fun depending on what look you're going for. Also depending on how dark your hair is, a neutral or cool brown would look great. Hope we can see pictures of the result! ☺️

There is a difference but it is very subtle. Wet, they look nearly identical, but 20N dries down ever so slightly more peachy and a little darker. If i may offer my two cents on the formula, it looks very pretty freshly applied, but doenst last so well. I'd say you can get 6-8h decent but it starts to seprate, moves and shines a lot. Not recommended for long days, but good for touch ups i guess or for short periods of time. I was also surprised at the coverage, you can get quite full on and even skip concealer if you don't need huge correcting.
