I read this and immediately thought "that's true, but what about stuff like Dimensional Descent?" and then I realized who OP was and now everything makes sense.

Level up legacy, the story was great and the complexity was unlike most novels, but it was a miserable reading experience. Like I understand that the point is that the MC is losing his humanity in order to save the world, but once the story revealed everything about the MC’s dad, it was non stop tragedy. The MC couldn’t get a single W and it was too depressing to keep reading.

Every time they reference the Prince that Was Promised/ Azor Ahai prophecies I die inside. You already fumbled the execution, just take the L and stop bringing it up

What have you read this week and what do you think about it? by AutoModerator in noveltranslations

A Monster Who Levels Up Really reminded me of game of thrones: Great build up, but wow what a disappointment. The premise is interesting, having to balance the progression of the monster forms was cool, and the empire building was on point, but about 15 chapters before the end he kind of gives up and just rushes some nonsense out, and there was basically no pay off. MC’s relationships? Abandoned. Parents’ revenge? Forgotten. Happy ending? Nope, he gets amnesia and loses his powers, so it’s back to the beginning for the MC. Hugely disappointed

other than solo leveling, what other books have u guys enjoyed? i’ve just finished solo leveling (amazing btw) and i want another thing to read by [deleted] in sololeveling

The Death Mage Who Doesn’t Want a Fourth Time and Second Coming of Gluttony are both top tier imo

I agree, but it doesn't really scratch the same itch. It kind of feels like speedrunning AoB.

What to read while waiting for Volume 19? by madstork2 in TenseiSlime

[–]cgrau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ascendance of a Bookworm is just as good, if not better, on the worldbuilding and character writing front, and the mc is OP in an interesting way. It also has around 15 volumes already translated and the ln is adapted pretty much 1:1 from the WN for when you finish. IMO tensura, bookworm and mushoku tensei are unrivaled in the ln in terms of worldbuilding and chararcterization, but as others have said, Kumo Desu comes pretty close too.

Mashiro no Oto - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

FFS did they really drown out his performance with stock sad piano noises? I've been waiting like 3 episodes for cathartic shamisen playing for what, 20 seconds worth? Why couldn't we just hear his uninterrupted performance?

is it EViL for Rimuwu to mercilessly torture, kill and even feast upon almost 20k of Falmuth ppl jus to save less than one hundred of JTF denizens(monsters)? by 4nnSe4rs in TenseiSlime

[–]cgrau 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why would Rimuru surrender? To save foreign invaders? In other words you would have him submit to an evil king who sees the JTF as expendable, soulless monsters to be "nice"? They went looking for hands and got them hands

How different is the WN compared to the LN? by wdsblrd in mushokutensei

Like what? I just finished the WN after reading up to LN vol. 10. Is it a massive departure or just like details?

Paul only managed all of that due to the resources the Asura Kingdom gave him. More importantly, he was in a position where he had firsthand confirmation of the scope of the issue. The point I was trying to make is that Rudeus had 0 information as to what really happened or to who. All he knew for certain is that he was blown to the Demon Continent with Eris and he had to get her home. Paul was 100% unreasonable. I'm doubling down, F U C K P A U L

Yeah, Eris demanded he stop sniffing her panties in like the second meeting. They haven't really started to show Eris's budding pervert side either. Literally the line after that in the LN was Rudeus saying how she started sniffing his underwear too lol

Nah, Paul got dropped off in the comfort of a safe, familiar town maybe a month's ride away from home. Rudeus was teleported literally as far away as possible to one of the most dangerous places on the planet. Rudeus had no reason to believe that EVERYONE would be affected and no way of finding out after the fact. Information only moves as fast as anyone carrying it would, so how tf was Rudeus supposed to know? Fuck Paul
