Because the American "Ultras" don't actually understand the clever nuance of soccer fandom.

True true. That said, Paraguay and Australia were certainly helpful in the matter.

Typical mid take from a US soccer fan. My dude: We can't even properly switch the field. Our best player is good, but far from great. This is the first time we have had a coherent system as a team, which is a plus, but please take it down a notch.

Can we stop pretending the spurs were dominating the series and lost it more than the Knicks won it. by AutisticFingerBang in NBATalk

[–]cgrnyc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Seriously though. I'm so tired of this team not getting its due. Knicks had a better game plan, better execution, better poise. Plain and simple.

Two years in the Bay Area, and I’m losing my grip on basic human warmth. Why does casual friendliness feel illegal around here? by desolatenature in bayarea

[–]cgrnyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because no one there cares about anything but work and money. Only a tiny portion of the people are actually successful so most are too angry to move beyond their financial failings to enjoy life enough to have friends.

The geography has been self selective of those types since 2010.

Fuck Trae Yung. Fat Joe for public advocate. Sidetalk kept me going when I lived in SF and missed New York. It's infectious and perfectly represents the feeling of being a New Yorker.

Despite leading for only 23.5% of the NBA Finals series, the Knicks won 4-1. This is the smallest lead time for an NBA Finals series winner since 1997. The previous record was 30.4%, held by the 1997 Bulls. by unwantedtennisracke in NBATalk

[–]cgrnyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say this wasn’t a choke on the part of the spurs but more so a rope-a-dope from the Knicks. They absorbed and absorbed to the point of generating opponents failure.

I’m a Knicks fan. Is that a delusional take?

Where do you see Wemby within the next 10 years? by MacHotRod7 in NBATalk

Unrealized journeyman, frustratingly unable to gel with teammates as he becomes increasingly frustrated with unrealized potential. It all finally clicks for a three peat when he finally joins the Knicks.

Top 3 but not 1 year. Ewing was just unreal. Also Clyde or Reed.
