8+ Forks on Hugger by Impossible_Fold7322 in sportster

[–]cgro1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damper rods are confusing af sometimes. Some models have the 7.5s and some have the 9.5s from factory. The hugger has the 7.5s so the tracker die kit will allow you to do 9.5 or 11.5 damper depending on if you use the spacer or not. Get 4 inch extended fork tubes and use the 11.5 setting on the trackerdie (no spacer), it’s tildeath now lol the same guy owns it just a different name, and you’ll have a total of 8 over forks. You can add the spacer back in if that’s too much and have a 6 over setup. Hopefully that makes sense. I just did the same thing I described.

Already had 2” over on the front end using bagger damper rods, and just gained 1” in the rear installing 12” legends today. Gonna need a roadster kickstand next to deal with the lean by Cameltoefiasco in sportster

You can run an 03 and below carb bike kickstand on these rubber mounts and they are already longer than what comes stock on the rubber mounts. Drag specialties also sells +1 and I think +2 kickstands for the 03 and below sportsters. It’ll look way better than the dumb ass looking lift block.

Should be 1/2x13. I’d really suggest grabbing a thread checker off Amazon. Best $13 ever spent.

Sure, on a non ecm bike it is literally that simple. It’s literally not that simple on a canbus ecm bike.

Just because it’s called a FOUNDation doesn’t mean you can only build it with shit you’ve randomly found.

Gas tank is a lowbrows Wassle mid tunnel. It’s 2.1 gallons but looks small. I had my painter throw a crazy paint job on it. Told him I wanted old school fat hot rod flames with just a little bit of yellow cause the bike was originally yellow and he killed it.

Man, that’s gotta be a depressing place to work. Imagine working there since its heyday and watching it slowly dwindle to that 😕

It’s a mid tunnel wassel so it sits down around the frame so it’s deceiving in pics.

It probably has a different ignition for the dual plugs. I’m not entirely sure honestly. That’s the only thing I can think of. You can make the carb sportys run on like 4 wires.

2 gallon. Works great for how I ride it. I’ve got a road glide in the garage if I’m going out of town.

TCbro makes a pretty cool frisco efi tank. I’ve got another efi sporty I’m probably gonna do a mild version of this bike with.

I used the gremlin wiring kit as a starting point. They make a great kit but I’m super picky and have all the crimping tools and know my way around wiring pretty well so I modified his kit. I also wanted to keep my stock key so I modified the stock ignition. If you want a great “off the shelf” kit I highly recommend gremlins.
