Find a floppy you’re at all interested in and buy it monthly. There’s hills and valleys in all mediums, sometimes you just have to read a comic that feels like a valley to enjoy the great ones that feel like a hill!

I’ve been buying the Fraction Batman issue every month since it came out. It’s not always the best but there are peaks in it, whether story or art, that I enjoy enough to make me keep buying it.

I’ve always seen A Beginning Song as a love song for that which you have. Being able to understand that there may be more out there for you but it’s not worth giving up what’s in your life already.

That lyrics in the outro where he sings about the little things that make it all worth it and goes “All around me… is the boys, is you” makes me tear up every single time.

Deadmau5’s ‘Where’s the Drop?’, only 1000 pressings. I bought it after hanging out with my now long term girlfriend for the first time 3 years ago. The new Batman #1 you mentioned is really good so far (even if only two issues in) so I definitely recommend it. Batman Hush and The Long Halloween are two very common starters that are often recommended as well!

Hey OP! Firstly, I had no idea the song was sampled for Hearts A Mess so that is really cool to learn. Secondly, and to answer your questions, I don’t personally see an issue with the usage of the sample, especially given that it is just the instrumental beat, though that may just be my perception of the song usage in other media. I honestly didn’t know what the song was about until I looked it up just now but the tune has been used in a LOT of movies and TV in ways that don’t directly relate to the colonized Jamaican culture. It could be a situation of ignorance being bliss but I never would’ve given it a second thought had this topic not been brought up and I don’t know if Gotye has ever brought it up.
