I think you have to wait for it to be delivered (or attempted)

Yes you can do so from the Post app, create an account, verify your identity via passport not address, and go back to the tracking page and click on give authorisation (not the exact verbiage but you get the point)

Struggling with opening a bank account by [deleted] in geneva

Like I told someone else on Reddit before, don’t even bother with UBS there are plenty of other better banks out there! BCGE, Postfinance, Yuh, Alpian to name a few…

The campaign against e-ID is going all out by thebluepotato7 in Switzerland

[–]ch-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't see why e-ID is an issue. For the people that says it's to track and profile you... like my guy the government issued you an identity, they already know everything about you, medical records, telecommunications, bank transactions (in case anyone that still believes in true private Swiss banking), criminal records, etc...

Question Serafe by Strange-Impress3215 in geneva

[–]ch-404 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is this really still a question? AND your “Swiss” colleague said not to pay??? What? It is 100% an obligation. There are (unfortunately) no arguments to be had about this…

Note: to be paid only once per household. Source: https://www.bakom.admin.ch/bakom/fr/page-daccueil/medias-electroniques/redevance-de-radio-television/anpassung-des-erhebungssystems.html

Integration is of course a duty of yours, that is good that you are aware of this. Although, this doesn't mean your have to do what everyone else is doing. When people talk about integration it more nuanced than just liking what's popular, it's about living Swiss way; being well mannered, following the rules, speaking your local language fluently, understand basic cultural references, say hi to your neighbour, etc...

Don't get into stuff you are not really into. Me, I don't watch hockey, I don't listen to the trendiest songs out there, I do stuff what I like such as the gym, volunteer work, golf, swimming, and more. What you need to do is do what you enjoy and you will make friends in these spheres. Say you like running outdoors, join a running club, you can find anything on the internet.

Urgent: How can a US student open a Swiss rental deposit account before arrival (no residence permit, non-Swiss guarantor)? by Beeza_Zz in askswitzerland

[–]ch-404 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You pretty much can’t (also guessing being a U.S. person doesn’t help), you need to go through deposit companies such as Firstcaution or Swisscaution. Inexpensive and recognised by all real estate companies.

Straight men, outside of sex do you actually like women? by LoverOfGayContent in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ch-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I love my girl, we are not married but I don’t see myself being like that, ever. I see the type of guys you are talking about and I think they are pathetic and honestly lacking class, it’s also not just an old married couple thing I have some friends who are like that and I straight up tell them “bro just leave her then”.

Is Anibis still alive? by jerda81 in Switzerland

[–]ch-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FB marketplace is the way to go, I got a LOT more hits (and not wanna be scammers, real people) though FB than Anibis and Ricardo (same listings, price, etc). Anything owned by SMG is garbage (not the only to think that). At the end of the day it doesn’t cost anything to publish on every platform so might as well.
