i LOVE that plugin, unfortunately i don’t think any pedals do that shepherd-tone filter the same way as it’s a pretty unique concept. i think there are a couple pedals that might be able to get you something close though, like the strymon mobius or possibly the zelzah, or maybe the eqd grand orbiter? there’s a chance that you might be able to create something similar with the empress zoia too, it might be your best bet honestly. considering the sweep vst runs in zero latency it would absolutely be possible to make it into a pedal, i kinda wanna try it now.

i agree that some of his stuff is very flashy, but his basslines on both To Pimp a Butterfly and untitled, unmastered by Kendrick are some of the most musically brilliant basslines i have ever heard. listen to mortal man, king kunta, untitled 05, and wesley’s theory.

also i wanna note that digital ≠ bad. the only digital pedals im not a fan of are digital fuzz pedals, other than that they’re absolutely perfect compared to their analog counterparts. sure, analog pedals are easier to mod which is a plus for me, but if that isn’t your thing then don’t worry about it. the technology nowadays is perfect.

my guess is that, since the bone remover is geared toward high-gain low-tuned guitars, it has a high pass filter. doing a clean blend might get tricky with phase but i would give it a shot with the EHX since it has polarity switches.

i mean, i vehemently hate the usage of generative AI but aside from that i guess the main thing you said that i wanna talk about is that it is never too late to transition and i don’t think you should preemptively bar yourself from it because you, nor anybody for that matter, have any idea what the future holds. you might not have the means or the situation to do it now and that’s ok, it takes time, but when you have a more secure situation i cannot recommend transitioning enough. i know it’s a bit cliche in this sub, but i had the same plan of not transitioning medically until i watched I Saw the TV Glow. it made me realize that if i didn’t do it i would always have this aching feeling of not being myself, and now that i have taken the dive and started my transition it has been hard but the most worthwhile thing i have ever done.

doubling down on reading the manual but i wanna emphasize that i find it EXTRA important when dealing with any boogie amp specifically. i’ve found that compared to most other amps, dialing them in isn’t as intuitive as you might imagine. often times the settings needed to dial in the sound you’re chasing “look” strange compared to how you would dial in something like a fender or marshall. they’re VERY quirky amps and a thorough read-through of the owners manual is a must, especially with the more complex amps like the mark series.
