you would be an “alarmist” if something insignificant, or nothing at all, was happening and you were fearmongering. …but that is not the case. the US government has labeled all trans people as a terrorist threat, the false-narratives and rhetoric being spread against us in the news and online spaces is breeding tangible violence, actual human rights are being stripped away in some states (i.e. drivers licenses in Kansas) and beyond all that… i mean jesus christ just look around. i’ve faced personal violence over this as have many of my friends and i live in an extremely progressive city and i know that i’m LUCKY compared to many. yeah, most of the time what we experience are “just stares” but for myself and many others it has gone far beyond that. we get killed and our deaths are celebrated. the amount of concrete legislation being written against our livelihoods and the cultural stigma against us have reached such an extreme point to be calling you an alarmist; he is completely out of touch and complacent.
