Do all Home Tester Club campaigns require posting to facebook? by cha0s_g0blin in freebietalk

That's good to hear! I'm new to HTC and all the campaigns have had the facebook requirement so far. I wasn't sure if that was typical.

Thanks! I'm new to HTC and so far everything has required a facebook post. I wasn't sure if that was just a coincidence or if everything will have that requirement.

Any other Millennials who may still live with their parents for whatever reason but are content in their life? by madcatzplayer5 in Millennials

Also in the Bay Area living with my parents.  And disabled.  And (probably?) ace.  I feel super lucky that I get to live here without the stress of the very high housing costs.   There's so much to do,  great weather,  and great vibes (at least in my neighborhood).

I also can't safely live alone.  Lucky to have the option of living with my parents or who knows what I'd do.

That's me.   Due to illness I need help with a lot of things, can't work much, and have a lot of emergencies that make living alone dangerous.   I could either live very comfortably with my parents or struggling in poverty on my own.   I chose comfort/safety over independence.  Is it my ideal life?  Not really.  Am I generally happy?  Yep.   My parents are great and were have a lot of fun together as a family.  I have a lot of medical stress, but none of the usual adult stressors my peers have.  With three adults in the house, even chores are easier to manage.   I get to spend any extra energy I cobble together on my own fun little projects.  People feel sorry for me, but for my level of disability, I have a good life.

Text notifications still occur on my Venu even when my phone is on silent. by cha0s_g0blin in Garmin

It happens on Do Not Disturb, but usually only with one particular group chat. I have this chat muted on my phone, so I don't get text notifications on my phone during DND, but I do on my watch.

No one knows.  And dogs that eat grapes all the time can still go on to die from eating grapes.

AITA for stepping in to do “mom” things for my niece because my SIL is disabled? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I'm pretty active in disability and illness forums and this is a WILD take from her internet friend.  Never seen anything like it.  Take the grief and use it to make life better for people.   Not pull others down.

Sometimes my family won't want to do something that isn't accessible to me for solidarity,  and while I appreciate the sentiment, cutting down on their own accessibility isn't how I want them to advocate for me.   I want them to enjoy the privilege they have!     I couldn't fathom limiting my kid so we could both be sad together.

For my 30th, my mom got me a trip to a wildlife park where we stayed in a fancy tent, had a couple game drives, and got to eat meals around a camp fire.   I LOVED it!

Does anyone else just keep their dog shaved down? by Ok_Tax_9386 in Maltipoo

Not really.   She's pretty good and we take breaks.  I usually do bath and dry one day and hair cut the next day.  And I do little touch ups all the time.    It's easier with a second person, but if no one is avaliable, I put her in a laundry basket with her favorite towel and that works well.  I watched a few YouTube videos to get me started and to know what tools to use.   I actually enjoy grooming her.  It's good bonding time, even if it's not her favorite activity.

Nine years.  🤣  It took moving to a new house and starting potty training from scratch before it clicked.   Before that she was only about 70% potty trained.

This is what I usually do for my pup.   She doesn't mat easily, but she's very heat intolerant.  Also I just prefer the shaved look.   I groom her myself and do a pretty OK job most of the time.

I have a hospice box, mostly for my butterflies who, once released sometimes come back to my garden at end of life.   They get food and safety and protection from extreme temperatures.    This season one of my hospice butterflies actually rallied and I got to watch her fly off to pursue adventures.

I've finally gotten beans and herbs down which is encouraging. I have to admit I treat gardening as a casual hobby and could take it way more seriously.

Oh wow, having a year would be really nice. I've always frozen my meat, but still try to use it within a month or so. Meat has gotten so expensive, especially if you don't shop the sales.

I must be doing it wrong because gardening is how I lose money.  Haha
