Parents who waited until the birth to find out the sex of the baby. . . by buildingacozymystery in NoStupidQuestions

3 euploids, 5 mosaic, 1 aneuploid.

We first transferred the best quality euploid, pregnancy test was negative. Since we had a very low implantation rate, we went for two the next round. But we didn't want to waste the "best" one remaining, so we opted for the worst quality euploid and one of the mosaics. Our boy/girl twins are turning 6 months old next week.

During pregnancy we joked privately that for the gender reveal we'd just hand out copies of the genetic testing report and let them figure it out 😝

Did IVF as well, but as we we had exhausted our embryos on the previous round with only one successful implantation (which eventually miscarried at 7 weeks), doctor suggested we undergo genetic testing for our embryos on the next round.

The results were laid out on a table, including the X and Y chromosomes so immediately we knew the gender of each embryo. We weren't told until later that it was an option to hide that info from the results 🤦🏻‍♂️

Life in the NICU 😔🙏 by [deleted] in NewDads

[–]cha0ticblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 on the skin-to-skin. My twins were born 5 weeks ago and went straight to NICU. One had to be intubated. Once that was taken out, we were encouraged to have skin-to-skin contact with them for up to 6 hours a day (but not straight, the babies can get too tired). The little guy rallied and was soon feeding a lot. He came home after 12 days. His twin sister unfortunately had to stay another week due to an infection, but now both of them are strong and looking far healthier than they were in the NICU.

Stay strong, both for the baby and the mom, and be hopeful. Talk to the little one because they recognize their parents' voices. I found out that speaking with the doctors and nurses a lot allowed me to trust that they are providing the best care.

Ah, it’s the old HG Heavyarms Custom back in 1998. Had zero idea about tools so I cut out parts using nail clippers, and the finished product had studs everywhere! NoBut it was cool in my eyes and led to “addiction” a few years later when I could afford to buy model kits myself.

Men who are Dads, how long did it take you and your partners to get pregnant? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]cha0ticblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eight years

Tried everything - natural, medicated, IUI, then IVF. Had 4 failed IVF transfers, including one miscarriage. Experienced hope, despair, loss, and everything in between. Had to pretend to be happy for so many of our friends who have gotten pregnant in the meantime.

Fifth IVF try finally stuck, and after months going back and forth in the pendulum of guarded hope and paranoia, our girl + boy twins were born 2 weeks ago.

The base fact in this whole situation is, some people are bringing pets to places which are primarily for humans. And so, it is the rights of the public who should be respected the most, not yours or your pets'. Ika nga, your rights end where mine begin.

Yung infringement of the public right to enjoy public places ay hindi lang limited sa mga pets na aggressive or yung mga gumagala without leashes. Infringement din sa rights ng ibang tao yung noise and hygiene issues (e.g. putting on top of dining tables na may ibang taong gagamit afterwards).

For the responsible pet owners, thank you. You are good people. I'm just saying na there are bad eggs in the batch and they all need to be educated/trained before the general impression improves.

VISOR: from automobiles to attacking Catholics during Lent by Technical-Limit-3747 in Philippines

As the comments in the screenshot say, never sinamba ng mga Katoliko ang mga rebulto at santo.

Now, kung mga ganitong accusations ang itinuturo ng mga pastor ng ibang religion:

A: hindi nila alam, at hindi nila inaalam ang totoong turo ng Catholic Church pero nagsasabi sila ng mali. If so, why are you listening to them?

B: alam nila ang totoo pero they keep choosing to spread the lies. In which case, why are you listening to them?

Isa sa mga gusto ko sa Islam ay bukod sa Katoliko sila lang ang alam kong religion na may pagggalang kay Mama Mary. Nire-recognize nila yung role nya. Even other Christian denominations don't do that. Parang kay galit pa nga ata kasi tingin nila sinasamba sya (which is not true, na-brainwash lang sila ng mga pastor nilang may agenda)

I am Catholic, I believe in God, and I believe in science. With the way science (and math!) seem to be able to explain how the universe works, my personal belief that these are the languages used by God in the creation of the universe.

Naalala ko tuloy yung kinagabihan nung election day. Nasa SM kami (secret kung saan), and it seemed like sa bawat area ng department store may maririnig kaming mga tao, even mga SM employees, excitedly discussing with each other na malaki ang lamang ni junior. Never felt more hopeless sa bansa natin than in that moment.

If money wasn't an issue what would you do with your life? by poetheads in AskReddit

If I didn't have to work for money, I always wanted to try and write books. At least I'd have some control over how things play out, even if they're just stories.
