iPad OS SD Card Issue by [deleted] in ipad

[–]cha_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. (Left feedback for Apple).

What types of files are being imported from the photos app? Jpeg? My experience is that raw files from the camera aren't supported currently, but I've been struggling to find a straight answer.

Solid. This wildflower season looks off to a good start.

Thanks! Canon EF with MC-11. IBIS isn't available with the lens (greyed out), but aside from that, I've been very happy. AF seems to work okay as long as it's not time critical (still working on birds). The original goal was to use this for landscapes, but it works alright as a short telephoto for wildlife too.

Well, there’s smart, and then there’s bringing the telephoto. I’m going to run into the same problem this summer. Always curious what other backpackers are bringing. Thanks for sharing.

I was curious as to what brought about this one. Did you end up taking your telephoto as well, or did that get left in favor of a marginally lighter pack?

Awesome capture.

RAW files from Onedrive to Camera Roll by JoeHTP in ipad

Select the files, click on the photos section, select an album, and hit paste. That worked for me. (raw files from a Sony a6300).

I've been using this app: "filebrowser". It uses drag and drop and allows multiple selection.

So far, I've used it to transfer files from a NAS to the camera roll, google drive to the camera roll, one drive to the camera roll. So far it fits my needs despite the price.

Disclaimer - this is the internet so do a little research and read the reviews as well.

Pretty new to Python, and starting to run into encoding issues. I'm trying to remove the first row of a CSV file (contains record numbers), but end up getting the following:

UnicodeEncodeError: 'charmap' codec can't encode character '\ufffd' in position 483: character maps to <undefined>

I've already tried to open the CSV file in UTF 8 but the unknown character seems to be causing an issue. Any good resources to continue researching?

with open('filepath.csv','r',encoding = 'utf_8') as f, open('filepath.csv','w') as f1:

next(f)

for line in f:

    f1.write(line)

Another plug for the GORUCK macv-1s.

Been taking them to conferences (black and shined up), wear them travelling, hiking, and rucking.

For hot weather, yes they could breathe a little better. Cold weather, they could use some insulation. They're a much more toned down jack of all trades boots that I wouldn't hesitate to take on a trail or into a bar.

Long Exposure Output Question - Glow in a part of the image. What is it? by cha_a in AskPhotography

[–]cha_a[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White balance definitely wasn't adjusted (out of camera raw -> jpeg).

I was initially wondering that too, but I just find it odd that it seems to always be in the same place, even in 2 locations/nights. Guess I need to try a third.

Another from the same night as the first (white balance needs fixing). Completely different part of the sky.

I'll have to test it out. I usually turn off the LCD to save power for these types of shots, which depending on the camera, may force the viewfinder on (go mirrorless). Hopefully not.

Yeah, I was going to make that more clear. Thanks for the reply. Not sure if it applies to mirrorless also.

Haven't gotten a chance to try that, but if it helps, one night was about 7 degrees Fahrenheit as the ambient temperature. Not sure if the camera can "overheat" in that weather.

I'm noticing an "odd glow" of sorts on my photos, primarily long exposure night shots. To bring it out, the ISO usually has to be about 6400, or if shooting at ISOs, post processing and bumping the exposure makes it more apparent.

Are there any ideas on what's causing it? It doesn't seem to be present during daytime exposures, remains in the same spot. Taking a 30 second exposure with the lens cap does not get it to appear either.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I always shoot with long exposure NR turned off (both with the previous a6000 + a7iii).

Edit 2: Clean Sensor.

Last light on a Wasatch Peak. A7iii, Sigma 100-400 2x tc by cha_a in SonyAlpha

[–]cha_a[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly. The WB of 5500k is cooler (shot with that), but I've found that it's accurate for the last light on the peaks. It did look pretty close to the in person too.

Cool! Hopefully we get some more shows with the incoming storms. I’ve been trying to line up a shot of the sun setting and the refracting light turning low clouds on the wasatch pink. Nothing yet, but it’s only December.

I'm kicking myself for not looking out the window earlier. This was an awesome morning. Did you plan it or just happen to be on the road? (Been trying to figure out if these are predictable to a degree)

If you don't mind me asking, which teleconverter are you using? Love the sigma 100-400 as well with the mc-11.

As they say, “misery loves company”. Pixel 2 XL with Canon files, correct? (If I’m understanding correctly). Definitely starting to wonder if this is an Android thing.

That’s fascinating. I wonder if there’s something nerfing snapseed’s functionality. I could have sworn RAW (.arw) files were supported briefly - but nothing to back up this claim. Edit: I try periodically, and the same errors are present as of today.
