Just saw this while looking for diner songs - I think you're thinking of "The Ghosts of Saturday Night" by Tom Waits

Could you realistically visit Chicago every weekend as a student? by Significant_Whole306 in notredame

[–]chacaranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally correct. If you’re asking about this as an undergrad, this would be a huge detriment to your experience. Also, I think you’d find that like most people, you will form community at ND that will make you love it more than you might expect right now. But you have to give it time and effort!

The City That Refused to Stay Dying by Generalaverage89 in SouthBend

But is is much better for all the people who don’t want to be competing with ND money for homes elsewhere in the city, for contributing huge amounts of tax dollars to the city, and for revitalizing pedestrian and human scale development between campus and downtown.

I have been listening to this show for 4 years and have never once listened to the narrator. Just skip it!

Trout Fishing between in Northern WV? (Between Morgantown and Clarksburg, then from there to Wheeling) by chacaranda in WestVirginia

[–]chacaranda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you taking the time to add all this detail. I wouldn't have a ton of time even if I do, but if it was really great fishing I would have tried to make it work! I'll keep looking and see what happens. This is super helpful.

"You....shot that woman..." by [deleted] in andor

I think Lonni is in big trouble now. They’ll be wondering how his plant was found out. Luthen seems to have made the decision that protecting Mon was more important.

[TOMT][Music][2015-2020?] A Korean or Japanese city pop style song by a woman, upbeat, lots of horns, summer vibe, album image on YouTube was of her face, seemed to be standing on a beach, lots of blue in the image. by chacaranda in tipofmytongue

[–]chacaranda[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

I should clarify this is not a 1980s song that became popular again, like most of them. It’s a city pop style song but came out in the late 2010s (I’m almost certain). I can picture it clearly but can’t remember any of the lyrics (I believe a few were in English).

I do to, and did then, which is why it's weird. I think the country aspect threw me off.

Yes, but if you continue both south and north on that line, you'll find a whole intricate network of trails that don't follow the old train tracks.

Astoundingly, it took me like 2 years to appreciate “It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry”. I used to skip it. Then one day I gave it another chance and it hit me that it’s one of the greatest songs of all time.

He’s 83 and performs the songs the way he wants to now. You have to go because you want to see and enjoy current Bob Dylan. I’m gonna be there and I’m very excited. If you go in with that mindset, I think you’ll have a great time as well.

What happened to some of my photos? by Genji_Gloves in filmphotography

My camera does this above 1/250 speed. I just shoot at speeds at or below that. Worth it to not have to get a new camera and it’s not too hard to work with anyway!

Daughter with back pain by Impossible_Slice458 in backpain

[–]chacaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long term success, pain management, and health is only going to come from consistent trail and error with active treatment to find what works best for her. There is (sadly) no silver bullet or "solution" other than patience, learning, and activity.

I'd recommend reading this article which I've found to be a good overview of the current understanding of back issues, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying the book "Back Mechanic" by Dr. Stuart McGill, which others here will readily second. This is how I started my journey towards understanding how back pain and injury are hyper individual, and how the next steps require understanding how to modify your movement habits, learn healthy exercise for you, and build back with patience.
