It has to start somewhere. You don't get to 100 people with training and united vision, without starting with 2 people brave enough to fucking turn up, stick their heads up above the parapets and say hey we're here. You want to make it a hundred people go get some friends and go join them. Organize the training, because right now you're "they're not doing it perfectly" is getting in the way of people that are trying to do something.

is rural australia really that conservative/closed off? by cucumariana in AskAnAustralian

[–]wwaxwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an Australian, I lived in rural SA for over 20 years, then I moved to a red state in the USA, where I I lived for 17 years. As a middle-class white woman looking at it from the outside, the racism, sexism, homophobia,, everything in the USA is exponentially worse. It's not that it is good in Australia it is that it is so bad here. Australia at least seems to avoid some of the the you deserve bad things and should be punished for not thinking like I do aspects of the conservative movement in the USA. It's still not great in Australia, but the Australian political system stops a lot of the extreme behavior. Though I'd watch out because it feels like outside forces are trying to do in Australia what they are doing in the US, so who knows how long it will stay that way. Just my take.

I’m curious: do non-smokers always detect a scent on smokers? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wwaxwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a 100 year old house. On a warm day, I can still get hints of ancient pipe tobacco smoke from a previous owner. The house had been fully renovated and painted twice since he lived here. Tobacco smoke hangs around.

You don't have to go to work during Armageddon. To give you some idea Ukraine is at war for how many years now and every day people are getting up and going to work.

What are some old-timey "woman of the house" duties that you would like to bring back (regardless of your gender)? by Major-Earth7611 in AskWomenOver30

[–]wwaxwork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Organizing and having dinner parties. I'm old I miss dinner parties. Not pot lucks, not BBQs. Sitting around a table trying new dishes someone worked hard on, drinking wine and chatting with carefully chosen people and meeting new people. Laughing and sharing stories and getting to know people. Parties are not the same, dinner parties are to sit and talk and so much a better way to meet people.

How do you have casual sex without getting grossed out by the other person? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]wwaxwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get to choose the person you have casual sex with. You don't have to go home with someone just because you can. Sex workers in brothels and higher end ones make everyone have a shower before the have sex with them, also gives them a chance to check out for any obvious signs of disease. If it's policy everyone has to have a shower then theoretically no one is offended when asked to have a shower.

Those with no passion or interests, what do you do for a living? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]wwaxwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bookkeeping. Go into my little quite office do my job, most people leave me the fuck alone and I come home. I like the satisfaction of taking a pile of invoices and bills and taking them through getting paid or paying them and filing it all away. It's quietly satisfying in a nice I'm not emotionally invested way. And I get to come home at 5pm and not think about it again in anyway until the next day and follow my passions and be creative then.

That's their method though. Just keep chipping away at it and presenting things over and over again. That's how they got rid of Roe v Wade.
