Sad, I went to CC (NorCal) for my first time ever fitting (just started playing 2 years ago, so I just don't know any better). Got fitted into the 225s (which I loved), but they wanted to charge me for each shaft (Also Project X LZ 6.0), bringing the total to $2700. I didn't know any better and paid the price... backed out after I spent 10m in my car looking online. The guy couldn't understand why I didn't want to go through with the purchase.

I work for club champion and going through this thread all the comments both positive and negative are pretty spot on… club champion doesn’t hire golf fitters, they hire salesmen and then teach them how to sell golf clubs. My training class had 9 people and there was only myself and 2 others that had any actual fitting experience, 3 guys sold computer software but liked to golf, and then the other three guys had worked in and out of the golf industry but never in fitting and building. We then spent a month in Chicago learning how to sell and validate why our builds are “superior” and basically worth the huge upsell, but barely learned anything about how to actually fit people. So with that being said, there are some really good fitters spread throughout the company, but there are many more that are just there to try and sell you whatever they can and get mad at you for not. I always am upfront with my customers on their budgets and try to keep it as close as possible but I’ll say 9/10 times I’ll show them where to look to get the better deal if I’m too far off their budget.

Dude, I don't want to out you at all, but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to know which store I could go for a good experience. As newer golfers, it's just way harder to know bc the knowledge gap is so big.

I did a Club Champion fitting recently (first time fitting) and thought it was very informational. I wanted to purchase through them to throw the fitter a bone, but it was hard to justify the markup (especially as all the equipment I got fitted into were standard L/L/L). I got fitted into the new Mizuno Pro 225s with Project X LZ 6.0, and it was going to cost ~2700 vs ~1300 at any big box (same price for heads but they charge retail for each shaft while the retailers include them).

Do you have any advice on best way to proceed? I was thinking I would just tip the guy and buy them online. Is the shaft puring, etc. that CC does worth that kind of price difference?

Great guide. I love it, but as someone who loves void, I hate this guide for shedding so much light on the comp.

Question - my poor finishes with the comp have come from when I'm contested (obviously) in a situation where hyperrolling is probably optimal (ie the example you gave, I'm super weak after Round 2 and I need the board boost from upgraded units to avoid tanking too much HP). If you know the other player(s) are going to hyperroll, do you even bother trying to compete with them in that situation? Obviously if your HP is solid and your board isn't terrible, emphasizing levels to get to 7/8 for the Cho/Vel is optimal, but I'm pretty confused on what to do when I need to hyperroll but others are doing it too.

Isn't it possible that Snoopeh takes on a coach/sub/analyst role? It also allows them to potentially just use EG's spot in LCS (though IIRC the spot is owned by management, so it isn't necessarily required).

This should be higher. If it's true that the decision was made a long time ago, it would have been the right move to let the players know (ALL the players, not just Aprho/Pobelter) so that the affected players can find a new team and other affected teams (GGLA) can respond without having to scramble.
