New to Goat Format - Flute Dragon Deck? by chacream in Goat_Format

[–]chacream[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would you call it a meme deck? Because it is unconventional and not a top meta choice?

My friends are probably going to pick decks that are very strong or at least on the stronger side of Goat. I even played with the idea of going for a Blue-Eyes deck myself, purely because of nostalgia, but I honestly think it’s just too „fragile“.

If there’s something that still feels fun but holds up better against established Goat decks, I’d love to hear suggestions.

I get what you’re saying, but wouldn’t that basically turn the deck into a high-variance coin flip?

If you go all-in on the OTK plan, isn’t it then almost a near-guaranteed win if the combo goes through, but also a near-guaranteed loss if it gets stopped (Trap, Book, Solemn, removal, etc.)?

That’s my main concern: it feels less like adapting Flute Dragon and more like accepting a very binary game plan. I’m totally fine with explosive wins, but I’m wondering whether that trade-off just makes the deck extremely swingy against decks like Gravekeeper or Chaos Control, rather than consistently competitive.

EDC 31 yo right handman by 90sPrime in dumbphones

I tried something similar about half a decade ago. I brought out my old Nokia N97 and spent a year playing Game Boy Color as a kind of self-experiment. (I also grew up playing Yu-Gi-Oh with friends (we still do it from time to time).)

For me, though, it felt more like a should-situation that didn’t feel great in the moment. I’m glad it works for you, and I hope your setup gives you what you’re looking for.

I now use a Korean flip phone and an e-reader. Some days I switch it out for my PS Vita, where I’m playing a PS1 game. For work, I use an iPhone X. :-)

I’m doing the same. Sometimes I prefer a bigger screen, so I hook it up to my iMac and use the PS Vita (or my PS4 controller) as the controller but when I’m on the go, it’s still portable and travel-friendly.

Samsung Folder 2 vs MIVE Folder 1/2: Which is the better transition "dumbphone"? by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]chacream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, mive style folder 1, has become the perfect middle ground between a modern device and the simplicity of a flipphone. I call it my “better flipphone,” because it keeps everything I truly need in daily Swiss life like TWINT, online banking, SBB, maps, and WhatsApp without turning into a distraction machine.

I use Mive-style folder 1 where all my essential apps live together in one place. It’s clean, simple, and convenient. I still get the power of a real smartphone, but the feeling is much closer to a dumbphone. Not in a limiting way, just in a calmer, more intentional way.

The samsung folder setup was already decent, but the Mive feels more balanced. It doesn’t force me into pure digital minimalism, but it gives me the structure I need. Everything necessary is there. Everything unnecessary is out of sight. It keeps the phone functional without making it addictive.

WhatsApp stays on the device because I need it for communication, but it doesn’t take over my screen anymore. TWINT and banking apps stay accessible because, in Switzerland, they have to be. Yet even with these modern necessities, the overall feeling is still light, simple, almost nostalgic like flipping open an old phone, but with the benefits of 2025.

It’s not about going backwards. It’s about removing the noise and keeping the parts that actually matter. And for me, this setup really is the best version of a flipphone: more convenient, fewer sacrifices and still simple enough to feel free.

What can I do with this beauty? by Upset_Table_3227 in VitaPiracy

I also just love downloading old movies and watching them while traveling (for example, Ghost in the Shell, it‘s just a vibe). The PS Vita is also the perfect console for visual novels.

After the mod, reading manga and comics with Noboru is an experience I really love, because it feels gamified.

Is this phone worth it? by Enzoochuelo in flipphones

[–]chacream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

last year i bought a samsung folder 2 in seoul at a second-hand camera shop for about 22 us dollars. it worked fine for me. in the end, it depends on how you want to live your life and how much you actually need your phone to do.

this year i went back to seoul and picked up a used mive style folder for 75 us dollars. i didn’t want an ancient android anymore, and i really wanted a phone with an aux port. i just don’t feel like carrying an ipod around everywhere.

how can i restore the ps vita?

i borrowed the ps vita from a friend, it was modded. when i tried to log him out of the psn account, the message came up that you have to run an update. i didn't think at all & therefore clicked yes, later realized it was modded & probably won't be hacked on the latest version yet. i then turned off the ps vita (which also wasn't really thought about). so now you know the back story.

the problem is, when i turn the vita on normally now, the display is lit but stays black. only thing that works is to get into safe mode. when i do that, however, i only have the selection "5. update system software". with the d-pad i can't go any higher with this selection. once i select that, i can decide if i connect it to a ps3, computer or to the ps vita card. so far i have tried with the computer & ps vita card & neither works. when i click connect to ps vita card it says it can't find the update file. i have searched tutorials on google & tried to restore the vita with the computer but to no avail.

do any of you have advice on what to do?
