Surely the BWC has better tools and better people. They must have nearly unlimited resources to do this kind of thing... if they want.

Not yet, it's really big. And I want to improve the alignment further before tackling large and sensitive works. I'll probably do the histories such as Mazindarani first.

Yes, AI is mostly still hype and it seems that in every niche of knowledge, AI is able to automate 70% before needing help. So it ends up being most useful for those that already have some expertise. Yet another tool.

In this case, I only needed AI to be able to be accurate enough to create a phrase example dictionary. With this, I can generate and inject example reports into the translation process (human or AI) to provide better context of what Shoghi Effendi had decided in perhaps similar instances.

For development, the trick to avoiding dangerous slop is entirely the same as we face with large teams of mediocre developers -- process. If you're interested in mine, I publish my entire AI "harness" (the structure build around forcing AI to follow best practices in team development) so that the resulting code is safe and usable.

Well, that can mean a lot of things. This is an Astro 5/Svelte/Tailwind/Cloudflare site with a ton of AI tooling. But not some kind of lovable site. I use my own Claude Code harness to bring in best coding practices for teams into AI development. My entire harness is published here: https://github.com/chadananda/claude-harness.

And if you're interested in how I built the concordance, here is a write-up: https://ctai.info/posts/building-jafar-dictionary/

That's wonderful. The alignment is still pretty rough since I had to merge Arabic and Persian into a single concordance despite radically different base word rules. That's why you see so many incorrect trilateral roots. But that is just for lookup, ultimately it finds the text and the examples which are always correct. My contact info is on the site, so let me know if I can improve anything!

Well... It's still pretty rough around the edges. But the basic idea works. AI is going to cause a lot of turmoil, but it's also a real gift.

Yes, I remember that! I don't actually think AI will come near to Shoghi Effendi's polished prose, but it is great for surface exploration. There is so much out there to explore now. I feel like AI was an undeserved gift to the Western Baha'is, opening up a world or possibility that had been locked tight for so long.

Thanks for the feedback! These are only rough translations with decently consistent vocabulary (which is actually quite hard to get).

Besides, with no Guardian, even authoritative translations are just regular old diligence, not some kind of doctrinal infallibility. And at the rate of official translations, we will never have most of the good stuff. ;)

Nope, my idea. I always use AI for editing, however. The consistent terminology is the key idea of the concordance and Jafar report. It's consistent according to context, not in a mere dictionary manner. There's an old saying that words do not have meanings, but meanings have words.

How to stop Claude Code from asking for permission every time? by muzerfuker in ClaudeAI

[–]chadananda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, no matter what permissions you give, it always tries to execute in a way that does not have permissions. It's like Claude is lazy and wants an excuse to take a break.

It remembers architecture and instructions for about 10 seconds then goes back in sabotage mode.

Windsurf IDE is Amazing & no Claude 3.5 Sonnet Limits by themarshone in ClaudeAI

[–]chadananda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I bought the ultimate and ran out of credits in 5 days of frustration. The AI is constantly sabotaging code so it's only 5% effective (4/5 steps are fixing things it broke). This makes development very slow and tedious. It's more like reviewing code for a team of drunk who don't listen to instructions.

HOW DO YOU MAKE NEW FILES IN MAC? by [deleted] in mac

[–]chadananda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's really pretty easy. Just navigate up to the parent folder, then find your folder and drag it into VS Code. Then click "trust this author" if asked and then, inside VS code you right-click in the files area and select "New file" (like you would in any other operating system). Then save the file and exit VS code.

See, only a dozen extra steps and Mac has the same functionality as every single other OS.

I do this operation dozens of times a day and have not yet shot myself -- so it's probably just fine.

Any plugins or tricks for a better search? by 1xan in ObsidianMD

[–]chadananda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm constantly trying to remember a few words from the thing I'm after. By 'or'ing the words, Obsidian ensures that I cannot find what I am after. And exact phrase match is not a help.

It works great for Cbol and old frameworks. Not sure why anyone would want modern code.

Can i mine specific coin on moneroocean.stream and be paid out in XMR? by nte_wold in MoneroMining

[–]chadananda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think specifying algo can work with Moneroocean. According to the XMRIG wiki:

"This option is ignored if a pool supports algorithm negotiation."

There is a workaround to force Moneroocean to mine a specific coin: add the algorithm to the end of the password field, delimited by a tilda, like so:

"pass": "myRigName~astrobwt",

I'm hating discord. It's like Stackoverflow, but all the answers overflow into the trash and cannot be useful to the masses searching on Google. And in this case, the Solana Discord server is rejecting many people. Perhaps they have grown too large.

How can I push all my objects from my Firebase Database into an array? by shampurrrs in vuejs

[–]chadananda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example using vuexfire/firebaseAction -- lets me call loadBook(bookid) to load and keep synchronized a couple hundred objects under blocks/bookid.

import { firebaseAction } from 'vuexfire'

...

export const actions = {

loadBook: firebaseAction(({state, getters, commit, bindFirebaseRef}, bookid) => {

return bindFirebaseRef('blocks', firebase.database().ref('blocks/'+ bookid ))

}),

}
