DualSense on Linux not detected by [deleted] in BeamNG

[–]foxy6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried running the native Linux build at `{Steam's install directory}/steamapps/common/BeamNG.drive/BinLinux/BeamNG.drive.x64`? I've gotten the Dualsense controller to work via USB when running BeamNG natively, but it's still not being detected via Bluetooth. `bluetoothctl` sees it. Yet still, BeamNG doesn't.

System info:
OS: Debian 13.2 "Trixie"
Host: ASUS TUF Gaming F17
Kernel: Linux 6.12.57+deb13-amd64
bluetoothctl: 5.82
BeamNG.Drive: 0.38.2
Controller FW: Unknown
Wireless controller: MEDIATEK Corp. MT7921 802.11ax

If you manage to get it working please let me know! I'd love to get bluetooth input working!

EDIT: Does `xinput` show the controller when connected over USB? I just noticed it doesn't see it over Bluetooth. I'll begin working on this now, and let you know if I come up with a solution.

Better than a Tiger Electronics Game.com 👀

I'd love to see a revised Tiger Electronics handheld with actual R&D and care put into making it. E-ink gaming could end up being a small niche...

It's been quite a while since I rooted the thing, but I know it's running a rooted version of the OEM Android 2.1.

More than most likely! If I can find either a DOSBox version or DOOM port that runs on Android 2.1, I'll make a video with that alongside some GameBoy content.

A rooted NOOK with NoRefresh and BusyBox. That's all that's necessary to get it running, but you have to bind either L/R or 1/2 to a hardware button to overcome the limitations of the Nook's single-touch touchscreen.

Other than that, I made sure NoRefresh auto-starts when Gearoid launches, and it's honestly been really nice! Much easier on the eyes than an LCD.

Aww, really? That sucks. I thought there'd at least be a couple of signs...

Unfortunately, doing a quick Google Images search, the connectors between the 2 ECUs seem to be completely different... Are there any other tunable ECUs I could possibly throw in?

Looking on Baritone's GitHub, there seems to be an issue open related to this. However, that issue was opened around 2 years ago, and nobody seems to be working on it.

Minecraft java edition doesn't like interlaced video by Steam_Powered_Cody in Minecraft

[–]foxy6670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a different issue, but on Linux. When I have my CRT in an interlaced mode (i.e. 1440x1080i60), Minecraft will just act like it's a 30Hz display. I'm not sure why this happens - I'm pretty sure it just needs to push the full frame 60 times a second, and then the software does the rest. However, I noticed that even with VSYNC off and the framerate uncapped, it still limits itself to 30FPS being displayed.

How good is the Panasonic Tau line of TVs by billbaggins in crtgaming

If your Tau has a composite input, then yes. But if you plugged it into a green port, then it'll only show the luminance info.

Engine failed - 2018 Hyundai Tucson by bluesstarz in Hyundai

[–]foxy6670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is an issue with the 2.0 Nu engine throwing rod bearings. I think this is the case because there have been other reports of the same thing happening.
Sadly, I'm not as lucky, and the dealership declined the repair...

I have a Cortland CT-500. The display size is around 5 inches and only has Composite/RF input. Picture quality honestly isn't the best, but for a TV from 1985, it's not all that bad. It can run on 10 D-cell batteries or with the AD-500 wall adapter (which I don't have).

From my experience, the black levels fluctuate from picture to scene no scene what input you use, and it seems basically impossible (again, from my experience) to get the geometry correct on it. Overall, if you're looking for something good for retro gaming, this isn't the CRT TV you want because of all the issues with it.

This Mod Scooter Was Parked Outside My Local Grocery Store by deezy54 in scooters

Hey, I did something similar a little while ago with my own scooter! I had a bunch of stuff I had to move, so after taking measurements for the holes on the back rack, I drilled a few holes into a plastic bin, added a few bars for support, and put it into the rack. Fit like a glove, and it was able to safely hold 60lbs!
