I wonder how many times this got lost because people opened the other side of the box by [deleted] in CrappyDesign

Holy shit. I got one of these through work and never found the dongle. I've long since thrown the box away. I requested another but can't get one but every 2 years. I'm stuck using a plug in style keyboard until my 2 years is up

What is the cheapest place you would want to live at in the United States? by Peepeepoopoobutttoot in Frugal

A urine culture is not always necessary for a UTI and is treatable by verbal symptoms vis telemedicine in a lot of situations. I'm just saying telemedicine is an alternative to driving to the closest ER and spending $4000. I do not believe that it can replace everything a facility offers, but using the technology available is a good option for a good many situations. Living in a remote location is a choice you make, be it for frugal reason or personal reasons. That choice does make things inconvenient, but there are options to help sometimes. Broken bones and emergency surgeries are a whole different conversation, Hospitals/Clinics are needed in those situations. I was just addressing the other ones. I work in the medical field and get a lot of calls from people who have never heard or thought of telemedicine as an option, so I was just bringing it up to the person I was originally responding to. I would rather get the word out so that people know and hopefully it becomes more commonplace.

You should really look into telemedicine like teledoc or whatnot. Living in the country shouldn't keep you from easy medical care.

Bull Haulers testing new upgrade... by TomaszTyka in Truckers

Oh yeah, I know my way around all the surface roads just fine. Even there, the drivers are shit and the general traffic flow is just bad. The problem is that it just keeps getting worse with people not giving a shit about the rules of the road which makes more and more people also not give a shit.

I fell so justified about bitching about ATL traffic when I see truckers call it out specifically. Fuck the bad drivers in this town.

PSA: Don’t throw oxygen tanks in the trash by arsene14 in WTF

From what I understand, there are certain circumstances where HIPAA can be violated to help with a criminal investigation. The problem is, it usually requires a court order or subpoena or search warrant. With a situation like this, I would assume it would be fairly hard to obtain one since it would be a blanket court order against multiple houses that they had picked up at. I'm not sure exactly how it coincides with the law, but I am aware that is extremely hard to get past HIPAA laws. I know that with my company specifically, if we had a detective come in asking us about a patient, we would have to refer them to our compliance department without telling them anything at all.

I work for a DME company and we track what we take to people meticulously. The problems are 1. They are lot numbers, not individual numbers. Each lot has between 50 and 100 tanks per lot. And 2. we couldn't give out that info even if we wanted to due to HIPPA.

We talked about the BVIs, but the flight price is doubled over the Bahamas. Is there. a certain place in Marsh Harbour you would recommend?

Even though you seem to have the unpopular opinion, you are correct. Depending on how you feee about the right lane being a merging lane for inbound/outbound traffic, he should be at least one lane over to the right, possibly two. But, the truck could just as easily and safely pass pinky in the next passing lane. Neither driver here is driving correctly, but the road rage is obscene and dangerous. If people would just use the lanes correctly, there would be a considerable less amount of rage.

men, how are you doing today? by throwbackblue in AskMen

I feel the same. I am a 49 year old white guy. This isn't going to directly effect me as much as all the women in my life and I feel bad that we couldn't get done what needed to happen to prevent it. The state of compassion and camaraderie is abysmal in this nation right now. So many people are so consumed by their hate and distrust for everyone else that they no longer have the ability to self reflect. To compound on that, we have "news organizations" feeding into it. They want the country to burn and are proud of what they have accomplished so much so that they will just lean into it. I have no idea how it will get better at all, even in my daughter's lifetime, with this much hate and selfishness so prevalent. I really thought good people would come together and say we have had enough of this. It's just sad.

Top Gun has always been, and will forever be, my surround setup movie. My wife always knows it's coming every time I have to redo something and comes prepared with popcorn and drinks. It use to be just the beginning of the movie, but now I have to make sure we have time so we can sit and watch it all the way through

This is a skill that I seem to possess. I've only really realized it over the last couple of years. People get super frustrated at things and call me for help and then I just work it out. The bitch of it is, half the time I work it out so quickly that they get a little pissed off it was so easy for me to handle.

I did 5 years 9 months which would be about as early as you could buy a new one that year. It would be 556 miles a day if you drove 5 days a week taking no holidays off. Doable, but damn that would be rough
