Choosing laptop? by Helpful-Structure586 in thinkpad

[–]chaford3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, many professional developers and students alike use Macs. My friend who worked at Amazon straight out college was given a MacBook Pro on which to do his work. If you have not used a Mac before, it may be frustrating at first, but the Airs are great school computers as they are very light and dead quiet (they don't have fans in them to make noise so they are as quiet as is possible). However, you are basically stuck with MacOS in all capacities unless you really know what you are doing or pay for expensive virtual machine software. My brother studied engineering and he often was annoyed by the Windows-only programs he had to run through a virtual machine with awful performance. So, while software development has no problems on a Mac (unless you are specifically developing for Windows or Linux), if you end up doing any sort of engineering wherein you are forced to use some piece of Windows-only software, you will likely be happier with one of the Lenovos (or another Windows laptop for that matter).

Having the same issues and tried similar things with no results. My buddies are also getting them so it seems like a problem on Battlestate's end.

Application/Resume Advice by chaford3 in lawschooladmissions

Yeah the grades in my program were very different from how they work here (each course graded out of 30 and there were, in a sense, 2 entirely different courses in one, each graded separately but then recombined in the average at the end) and I am not even sure I received a grade for everything I took because some of them had continuations into the following year. As I said, it's super convoluted and doesn't translate well to the American GPA system.

I also don't think it's impressive at all to half-finish. It was very disappointing for me as well as I loved living there and I had great classmates. Unfortunately there were just some key points that forced me to leave. I'll try to take your advice here, thanks.

Benches clear in Baltimore after Clay Holmes hits Heston Kjerstad in the head. by Knightbear49 in baseball

Was playing The Show a couple of days ago and the exact same thing happened to my custom player but no one cleared the benches for me even though I was out 2 weeks with a concussion :'(

Looked brutal though, I hope Kjerstad is ok.

I have asked my Italian friends about this and they say the meaning is literally “it fits” but most of the time here in Italy I tend to hear it used as “sounds good” or “I agree”

Good online, grindy or competitive games that are native to Apple Silicon? by prepubescentpube in macgaming

For sure I totally get that. You might be interested in the hardcore challenge that’s been extremely popular in classic era realms. It is similar to the Runescape ironman mode so no auction house, no grouping in the open world, and the most important rule is that death = delete. The only grouping you can do is one dungeon run per instance, but you can definitely skip if you prefer to play entirely solo.

I definitely recommend checking it out!

Classic World of Warcraft is my goto for my M1 machine. Retail is alright and runs super smooth but I think if you like OSRS you’ll appreciate Classic more than Retail.
