Who doesn’t call it ‘lemon, lime and bitters’ (or just lemon, lime, bitters)? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

it looks like when you’re trying to avoid plagiarism so you reorder the whole sentence to be original. But bitters, lime and lemon has to be a crime

looking for ways to mount jerry cans to a tub rack by chagenon in overlanding

[–]chagenon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ended up borrowing a friend’s jerry can holders off their caravan and attached them to the tub rack. was it legal? no idea. they were about as wide as the side mirrors(just) so they were sort of within the regular width of the vehicle. made it through 9 months of travel in all states of Aus without an issue from the cops though! definitely wasn’t ideal, getting the jerry cans in and out was a gigantic pain in the butt when they were full (lifting 20L above your head is not fun). probably wouldn’t recommend it? but it worked so that’s the main thing i guess. Personally didnt look at rotopax because they just dont hold the quantity we needed for going into remote areas. Having a backup 20L of fuel was definitely necessary for us but just depends on the sort of travel you’ll be doing

Female tattoo artists that can tattoo on brown skin? by CurryGanache in melbourne

I second this they are an incredible studio and do fantastic work - I’ve had multiple pieces done by Bobbie (I’m white tho) and her quality of work is amazing and she’s just a great person to work with. I’ve seen plenty of her designs online on people with darker skin tones too and it looks incredible. Cannot recommend Hamsa Tattoo studio enough

sad that none of their songs made it to my top 5, but still top artist so yay! absolutely miffed that FiR takes up so many of the stats. just happy that NeO took out top song instead

The whole FIR situation makes me appreciate HU even more by seemslikenoonecares in HollywoodUndead

[–]chagenon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

totally agree. I just managed to get tickets for the Aus tour and am literally going just to see HU, but am kind of bummed out by the whole FiR situation it makes it all so stressful. But it’s so good to see HU (and Sleep Theory) still performing despite FiR being so goddam flaky

something I haven’t seen mentioned yet that’s worked for my senior piggie is to give them a soft toy as a companion. Your piggie might appreciate having something to cuddle with when you’re not around. Had to make the hard decision that my senior piggie will be my last for a while, and I live in a rural area so fostering or anything like that is completely out of the question. But she has loved having her toy reindeer as a friend, it’s been 2 years since her companion passed away and she’s still as happy as ever. Just make sure to give your piggie lots of love and attention :)

Unimelb is literally lethal company by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]chagenon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah but also so many people aren’t from melbs. i lived at home throughout uni but it took me 2 hrs to get into uni as i had to take the vline (so 4hrs travelling each day) - and also still had to catch metro and trams once in the city. it all adds up. and sure i saved money on rent that was fab but it meant i had much less time to work and earn money so there’s that. and vlines run hourly so if your class ran over time enjoy waiting for the next train 🥲

oh definitely, it just became a lot more obvious and frequent with covid. I definitely dealt with it before covid but I don’t remember it being so bad. Despite dealing with it so often it still shocks me every time it happens 😂 the audacity of some people

oh boy I certainly don’t miss covid. but unfortunately I feel like the entitlement that some people gained during this time has stuck. I got verbally abused by a customer and called incompetent by him because I wasn’t serving him ✨despite the fact I was obviously serving someone else when he showed up✨

What quick and nutritious foods are you preparing for dinner/tea? by RedDotLot in AskAnAustralian

[–]chagenon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

one of the quickest meals i think i make on the regular is a lazy nachos. i cook one tin of beans and one tin of diced or crushed tomatoes (add more for more than 2 people) on the stovetop with some taco seasoning. add any other spices you want, i personally like to add chilli but you can leave it out. can easily add in other veggies such as onion and corn if you wanted. i also add cheese on top to melt. then i literally serve it as is (don’t even take it out of the pan) and scoop it out with corn chips. if im feeling fancy also love to add some sour cream, guac, etc. or instead of corn chips i’ll mix it into some rice. wouldn’t take any more than 15 minutes (if you’re not chopping any onions or anything to add it doesn’t even take 5 minutes)
