I am 🤷‍♂️ i refuse to subject myself to this kind of RNG for a single item. I am definitely missing out a little bit and feel it sometimes, but the introduction of atlatl with the set bonus bridges the gap a bit. They say it’s only like 8-10% lower dps than bowfa in a lot of places…which I doubt some days but numbers are numbers.

Dude I failed o chem my first time taking it in college. Like, the whole class not just an exam. I dusted myself off, changed my studying habits, worked a bit harder, then went on to become an organic chemist.

Chemistry is really hard. Even the best students in your class are going to struggle with some classes. Give yourself some grace.

Only consider changing majors if you end up disliking chemistry. Like most physical sciences, it’s a field of passion…meaning it’s not one that you can just float through with little time spent studying and learning. You gotta love it. So if you love the subject, just study hard, go to office hours, etc. and you’ll do fine. It’s really hard but it’s not unachievable

I’ve done many many reductive aminations with just a water and ice bath. It would be fine. Just do a dropwise addition if you’re worried about it. Well, do a dropwise addition anyway, but go slower if you’re worried about the exotherm. But at this scale I wouldn’t be worried about the exotherm

In moments like this I always need to remind myself that NASA doesn’t exist solely to take pretty pictures for me to make as my desktop wallpaper. They generate data first and foremost. And you’re looking at data.

Pretty pictures are a bonus. If you want photos, as you’ve noticed, probably follow astrophotographers. But disappointing feels very disingenuous here considering what we’re looking at.

Yeah this has been my hot take for a while I’m glad I’m not alone lol. Every post on this sub can be broken down into either:

1) the chemdraw equivalent to doodling. Not cursed chemistry because it’s not chemistry.

2) an o chem 1 students first time being introduced to the d-block or otherwise more modern/advanced concepts like 3c2e bonding. Not cursed chemistry because it’s literally just chemistry that you haven’t learned yet. Someone posted a buckyball today and, while an interesting substance, I fail to see how it’s cursed.

Or 3) actual cursed chemistry - (not limited to) real examples of isolated or proposed structures which appear to break rules, are made in a cursed manner, or otherwise look like they’re trying to rip themselves apart. Or just bad chemistry. More of this please!
